donnie, at this point, I normally would adjust the Idle and float screws good enough to get it running in the ball park. then take it to a shop to have it properly adjusted.

Or park it out in the pasture and unlimber a few rifles on it so it can never bother anyone again except the scrap man !

nah.. they are getting real popular with the trail Buggie Croud.. they are the poor mans first gen bronco
they like it's short wheel base.
. so dont shoot it, sell it.

It's hard to find a good car mechanic. If you find one, hang on.

@Donnie, I worked full time as an auto mechanic from 1978 till 2004, I know carburetors well, although Japanese carbs have a few extra circuits in some cases that can restrict fuel or flood. pm me and I'll talk you through testing procedures.
Tom, mechanical fuel pumps are positive displacement pumps which by definition require no priming.

My bad - I meant the pickup line. If the pickup line has a hole in it (or a kink) no matter how much that pump moves it will never prime enough for a discharge.
It sucks air instead of fuel.
Mechanical pumps have no inlet check valve so some cranking is always needed but if there is a hole in the line, no matter how much you crank it, it won't get fuel. Simple hydraulics.

You've got quite a "crop" growing there.

Wish I had the space to add a few vehicles to my "acreage".

Just got news that there is a 1989 Chevy 4×4 1/2 ton pickup for sale in town, I've seen the truck - it's rust free with 140,000 miles on it.

got some good news to report.. the fire did not reach the stearing column. so after cutting out the burnt leadsfor the radio, heater half the gauges and a few other odd lighting wires and such.
I hooked up the battery crossed my fingers and turned the key. and she started right up. with no sizzles or smoke. I still got some melted bits to remove. including the burnt out fan motor. but I hope to sand off the surface rust and start rebuilding her soon.
starting with an early morning trip to the glass shop for a new windshield on tuesday. if it aint raining.

today I started doing shakedown on a Jeep Grand Cherokee i redid a huge amount of issues, put 120 miles on it, ill put another few hundred more in next few days, make sure all is good, retighten intake, exhaust manifolds, and valve cover, and then give it back until spring, when I will rebuild the air conditioning system. fun fun fun, at least it wasnt my money, but she has a steal in it, found it dirt cheap, neglected, but no rust, nor crash damage, just $800 in parts. but could easily sell for double what she has in it.

the Jeep has proven to be pretty AWESOME! but has an electrical drain i havent took time to find, its a 1998, and belongs to female friend.

i want another Jeep, i once worked on a lot at shop i worked at, specialized in Jeeps, mine was crushed by tree few years ago, it was a 2 door, 5 speed, with 4 cylinder, but driving hers made me want 1. I do have a project 4wd, a 1988 GMC originally a V6, has a 350, was automatic, has a granny gear 4 speed, was 2wd, now 4wd, lol, but needs quite a bit fixed on it, and im too broke to fix, plus limited spare time.
