Don't like that 5-in-a-row rule. How's a fella suppose to stalk a girl with less than 6 consecutive messages? Seriously, it does get in the way sometimes when coupled with the 500 character limit per post - because, as I've mentioned, 1 word will never do when I can write a novelette. Particularly when there are language barriers & you have to explain half the shizzle yer saying to someone yer jist startin' out with. One complete thought for me can run several hundred words - & that's when I'm being succinct. The 5-in-a-row was put in just for that problem.. to keep scammers away.. As far as the 500 characters that was put in later... And yes it is a issues for those of us that seem to write a book in emails.. I have found out I do paragraphs instead now so if I get the code that my message is too long.. I just copy so many paragraphs from the bottom delete send then paste and copy following the same way till I can send it all.. I get the 5 in a row rule.. that's fine by me.. but limiting each to only 500 characters is pushing it something awful.. I'm with Coot on this.. keep the 5 in a row but get rid of the max 500 I say..

I'm on a dating site with a kind of forum thing. But each post has a 135 character limit. Teaches you to rephrase, be short & sweet and leave out what isn't really necessary. Can be a worthwhile exercise! On the other hand side, 500 limit in email is over the top. Doesn't allow you to have a decent exchange and forces people to go off-site, which usually isn't recommended. Makes you wonder what the goal of this site has become: war against scammers or helping people to find love.

holy moley.. it took 7 posts to make page 50 appear.. FYI: There is a bit of a flaw when it comes to page numbers, and that is..a long thread will have had (probably) some removed posts which the protocol counts, refusing to flip until the actual count is reached..I might guess that about 7 posts were deleted along the way, as that is how many it had to overcome to flip ;-)

I posted a reply here yesterday, and somehow it's not there. Oh well... OT --- thinking... I can't decide which reference photo I want to use for my painting, dangit! There's 2 I like. Decisions decisions... And I need to decide so I can get started with the background. Also can't decide to go for a tad abstract style or more realistic. I'm struggling with this painting before I've even started, hihi.
