"Les habitants" (French for "the inhabitants" or "the residents") most commonly refers to the original French settlers of New France and is the origin of the famous "Habs" nickname for the Montreal Canadiens hockey team. Thanks Mo....that lesson meant alot....I am happy I didnt side with the people who tell me, the Americans dont know anything about Canada......

mornin peeps'n lurkers another warmish day in da hood.. supposed ta pour rain today.. Zee looks outside doesn't much look like rain.. but ya never know huh.. anywho.. I'm curious why they call the Montreal Canadiens the "HABS" ??? never cud figure that one out.. that and changing one letter in Canadians to Canadiens makes it french some frenchmen are weirdos lol have a super day y'all You asked, I just did the mouse clicking and cutting and pasting
