Hi,
I work for an orthodontist who believes in homeopatahic remedies, here is one for you to try.

Take about 4 lemons cut in half
about 4 cloves or garlic peeled
1 tsp of cayenne pepper

boil this in an 8 quart pan for 10 or 15 min

drink a coffee cup of this every hour the first day
then a couple of times the next few days till you feel better
be sure to drink it while its warm.

It does sound gross but a few of our patients have tried this remedy and it got them over what ever virus they had.
Garlic and cayeene pepper are very healthy for the body.

PS. Taking to many atibiotics can do more harm then good.

I am sorry.... but I think its alot better to go to a doctor that specializes in 1 area than it is to see a doctor that knows a little about every thing..personal opinion...

best of luck to you!!

You may have to have them removed. My 27 year old sister just had to.

Im just curious to why your doctor would give such a general antibiotic. Especially with your past history. The radiologist tec is right to say Levaquin. However with your past a tonsilectomy might be the best option.

There are alot of anti biotics that wont work on me,but when things arenot rite I just tell them quit horsing around and get a shot in the behind and 1 weeks worth of Penisilon and by 2nd day things are almost back to normal.once they are you should really think about getting them out or find out whats causing the problems tobegin with.that or drink hottottiesdrinker bigsmile

when I was a kid, my mom used to paint our tonsils with merthiolate or mercurichrome(sp?). we got better, don't know if it was the treatment or the fear of another one.laugh

If you haven't been on levaquin ask about that, it kills anything. If you have, i don't know what others to tell you about, keflex maybe?

STOP! STOP!! If she is symptomatic of a bacterial infection and the antibiotics that work against routine upper respiratory pathogens are not working SHE NEEDS A CULTURE to see what is causing the issue... and possibly it is a virus for which it does no good to prescibe antibiotic! Randomly prescribing different antibiotics (or not taking all of them) has been the major reason we now have MRSA, VRE and MDR TB.

For those who dont know MRSA is a methicillin resistant infection. It builds immunity cillin antibiotics.

My mother has a history with bad Staphilocaucus infections, combined with MRSA. I dunno if that might play a part. I'm thinking about electing to get the surgery. So far as i know, they don't just do it anymore, there has to be an emergencetical need for it.

If they would allow me to, i would choose to.

Well throat closure risks do count as an emergency. Mrsa isnt something you can be prone too. It is extremly contagious.

well i know MRSA can pass through blood and is a residual infection (Meaning it never goes away), So does that mean it's contagious through blood to blood? or is it all bodily fluids?

MRSA can go away. The bacterium is transfered mainly from site cross contamination. Meaning if its on an open wound then its in the puss ,blood.

This sounds painful, but works. Warm up some water and add a little apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper. It cured my daughter's sore throat. Only take by the teaspoon, until glass or cup is empty.

I'm in a crapload of pain because my tonsils are swollen. I've tried Icecream and hot tea to help with the swelling, but it didn't work. I wet to a doctor and he gave me RXantibiotics, but they never work for me. I think i built up an immunity to them. Does anyone know any all natural remdies i could try to get the swelling down, and maybe clean my system while i'm at it?

Cause this has happened before, and they swelled to the point where i couldn't swallow and they had to drain my tonsils and give me a trache tube...

I really don't want that to happen again.

Hi

I used to get tonsilitus every month, and i was antiboitics every month, i had mine removed, i can tell you more about the procedure if you want to know. since i had them out, i havnt even had a throat infection since. gargling in soluble aspirin does help the pain.

Amoxicilin Clavinate and devroxin? (I unno if the second one is right.) But i know i've taken them both before and neither of them helped at all. Is a tonsilectomy painful post-surgery?

My son is 19 and he just had his tonsils and adnoids taken out. He did very well actually. He had a few nights that were not to good, but he kept having infections and his throat would swell almost shut.
If you were a smart girl, you would just go in and get it done. You might be in pain a few days but trust me, you won't regret it in the end!!

Have u thought about having them removed? See what the specialist says.
