I have had my dog for over a year he is like my only child my baby....i started to date this awhile ago and he thought it was strange my dog slept by my head and he asked me if i could put him in his kennel for the night i said no he never leaves my side! and after that he hated my dog! so i broke up with him a month ago.....is it strange to let your dog sleep with you?

Brenna,

Not at all. I have a 10 ywear old sheltie and 2 siamese cate who think they are dogs. Not only do they hop up onto the bed (to be comfortable and warm), the cats will smack tap then smack me on the chin and shoulder to lift the covers so they can slide under to keep warm. Or they will each stake out a spot to lay. one on the leg other on the chest. dog gives a kiss or two and then plops against me and passes out.

Yeah dude its a dog. Its your baby. Just do what i do when girls have issues with my pup staying in the bed with me. I tell them hey he was here before you and its his bed. If you can't respect him how can you respect me.

Not at all, I actualy think it's cruel to lock them up in kennels. Dogs form special bonds with their owners and are much more dependant on us than say a cat. I used to have a great dane that slept with me, took up half the bed too..lol;^]

If the man couldn't handle the dog sleeping with you, he has some serious jealously issues. Kudos on dropping him, honestly!

better to get rid of him now because if he would ask you to give up your dog(child) for him then he has some self esteem issues of his own.

kennels have a place in your home. They keep your animals safe while you are gone, help with house training, etc. But NOT to keep them in all the time. You were right to get rid of this guy. He apparently was not an animal person, sounds like he had deeper issues, took everything out on your dog.

Poor little army man! What was that poor little guy thinking. "It will all come out in the end" Good that he lived through it! That would be worse than napalm.

after that i did not leave him alone with my dog cause if he yelled at my dog i would have punched him the face and kicked out of myhouse!!mad the only person i trust to take care of my dog when i'm not home is my mom...but sometimes i don't fully trust her to feed him lol but she always does but i'm a worryier lol
