Really have to offer?

It's easy to come on the forum and reply to topic's about what we want, but what do you really have to offer.

Reading a lot of the topic's on here i see how many have not gotten over there past relationships. So knowing that, what do you have to offer at this point if you haven't delt with your past?

Sex - at least that's what I hear helps get you back to having something real to offer...I don't do that though-it's dirty

I took a year to deal with it. Some things do still trigger residual anger. But that is fading more and more as time goes by. Once a year was up, I decided it was time to get back into the meeting people and dating thing again. I don't jump into dating again after a bad breakup. I know I have things I need to deal with first. To jump back into a relationship right away is often counter productive.

Shadow, why are you making me think so early in the morning laugh laugh laugh

Well, still dealing with some issues from my last relationship so as far as romantic relationships go, I'm not in a position to offer anything. I don't date unless I know I can completely open my heart and soul to someone, if that were to present itself.

So, right now, all I can offer is friendship. But, I'm a pretty good friend, a good listener, smart, occasionally funny and I'll hang out with you if you get bored bigsmile

I think that's a pretty good something flowerforyou flowerforyou

i don't think to date anyone, ya need to offer anything..

i think it's more of...either a good 'match' or 'fit' personality-wise..

maybe i see an 'offering' as a material thing, when it comes to material things, if i don't have it by now, i don't need it

however, to answer your question Mike, friendship, laughs, and good company is really all i can 'offer' anyone

lol Suzin, hmmmm making you think. Yeah I think friendships is the first step

Yes we all have our issues and some of us know how to deal with it better then others. It's all in facing it head on to me. Do I want to hang on to it or be happy. I chose to be happy.

What do I have to offer. At this point I would say a little more then friendship and thats because I come to know a little bit about who I am. I have delt with my past, not that it will ever go away but I have grown from it and look at the good side of things as far as how I got through it. I'm not afraid to share who I am with anyone. other wize i don't have nothing to hide and I seem to run into people that do and it scares them because this means that I might actually get to know them lol

To me it's not a need it's a want. Are you willing or does it take a lot for someone to appreciate what shoulkd be so freely given?

Yeah it is, but most don't see that. They feel others have to work for it and they make it so hard that it's not worth it. I like feeling free and not to worry about the past. Everything I done has brang me up to this point.

I agree, it's making a choice to deal with whatever you need to deal with and then making the choice to move on and be happy. The thing is, so many people do not know themselves well enough to be able to do that. They hang on to the hurt and anger, sort of as a security blanket. They choose to shove aside their feelings aside and jump from relationship to relationship in the hopes that someone, somewhere will miraculously make them happy. I don't think that works. And I certainly don't think it's fair or honest.

I've chosen to move on and be happy, but I also know myself well enough to know, I'm not quite there yet. But, when I am, I'll be able to trust fully and love openly with no reservations and accept that same kind of love from someone else. flowerforyou

the problem with that line of thinking, is that you never really put all your cards on the table that way..so are you ever really giving 100% of yourself to that person?

don't get me wrong, im not just gonna dump all my issues on someone's lap (and yes, everyone has issues), however, im not gonna hide 'em from 'em either.

there's certain aspects about my personality that stem from my issues, those aspects are apparent, and very obvious..it would be difficult to hide 'em, so why bother?
