So the stockpiles of WMD's were not found (at least not yet) in Iraq. So my question is, what was Pres. Bush's motivation for invading Iraq?

The U.S. wants to set up world banking also I think oil was a major factor as well, in addition to having bases over there..Just my guess:smile:

To take the attention off the fact that he couldn't find
Bin Laden. Imho.

Thats the center of the world over there with Europe and Asia. Its where all the attention should be focused so the U.S wanted some claim in it which they brought in the form of military bases in Iraq.

And I reckon oil had a lot to do with it.

Bringing democracy to the middleast is a joke, its been in chaos for hundreds of years and many people have tried to do somthing about it with no success. They have no resources and are ruled by religious zealots, its always gonna be that way.

He had some misguided idea that he was going to turn the entire middle east into one big utopian democracy. What a f---in idiot.

you must remember that all intelligence analysis in 2003 indicated that Iraq had wmds. The CIA, and other world intelligence organizations also were convinced that was also the case. Decisions have to be made in the present, not in hindsight. Remember, at the cabinet meeting on Dec 4, 1941, President Roosevelt was advised that the Japanese had no intention of attacking the US in the forseeable future. Do you know what happened on Dec 7, 1941? We must make decisions based on the knowlege that we have at that moment. We cannot wait until after the fact to make decisions.

Human rights, they needed help, no argument there. World banking? Might have to expand on that. Oil? That is a possibility. Oil is necessary to our economy. Military bases? We already have bases in Turkey, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia. But having one in Iran's back door may not be a bad idea.

So...when we are intensely looking for Bin Laden and his top ten gurus, Bush decides to act on an Intelligence Ayalysis. Yep, that fixes everything.

Intresting read.

I do noticed that they quote CIA & U.S. Intelligence sources. Are the believable? They did get the whole Iraq WMD analysis wrong, didn't they?

I believe that they did. Along with most of the other things that they analyze. Seems like a bad misnomer..."Government intelligence" doesn't it
