Irish rocker hails Bush on Africa;
 By Jennifer Harper and Jon Ward, THE WASHINGTON TIMES

 Irish rock 'n' roll singer Bob Geldof yesterday said President Bush has done more to fight disease and poverty in Africa than any of his predecessors.

Mr. Geldof, long an activist for Africa, was downright effusive about Mr. Bush during an informal meeting with the press yesterday near Kigali, Rwanda.
........

 Mr. Bush "has done more than any other president so far," Mr. Geldof said.

 " ..... George W. Bush is basking in rare adulation on his African tour," noted one ABC News account.

...The accounts were different among African news organizations. Mr. Bush was called "relaxed and charming" by the Citizen newspaper in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
.....

flowerforyou  "Bush at home in Africa, where the U.S. still shines," said the Namibian. flowerforyou

The Liberian paper also yesterday offered an account which showed that Mr. Bush also resonated with other entertainers besides Mr. Geldof:

  "In a humid rehearsal studio, Liberia's pop queen is practicing her newest single - a song called 'Thank You' to be released on the occasion of President George Bush's visit to this African capital this week. Her head tilted back, her face wet with sweat, Juli Endee pulls the microphone close and belts out, 'Thank you George Bush,' " the account said.

It's not the first time Mr. Bush got unexpected accolades from the Irishman, though. In 2003, Mr. Geldof praised the Bush administration for clearly allocating funds for AIDS relief in Africa ....telling the Guardian, "Clinton was a good guy, but he did [nothing.]"noway

One should never believe in corporate owned news. They twist and turn for the corporate interests and Bush is corporate owned. You want real news go to realnews.com

Well...Bill Clinton was impeached. Bill Clinton left office. Those are both good things.

But I'm guessing you meant in the past 7 years?

Bush cut taxes, which helped the economy.
Bush freed the people of Afganistan.
Bush freed the people of Iraq.
Libia gave up their WMD program, out of fear of G.W. Bush.

I'm not even a Bush supporter and those came right off the top of my head.

The highlight will come in 50 years, when the fact that the war on terror was necessary and that the elected Democrats acted in a nearly treasonous manner is in every History book.

1) There is absolutely no reason to insult people.
2) What is the link for? Rush and Ann Coulter have both criticized Bush many times. The fact that I enjoy listening / reading what they have to say doesn't mean I support Bush.

Have you heard the golden rule? Do you want me to insult you? Should we do this tit-for-tat? You insult me, I'll insult you back. You can call me brainwashed, I will call you stupid. We'll end up angry with each other and causing problems for the Moderators and Admins... Is that really necessary? Why can't we just state what it is we disagree with one another on? I pointed our four things that I think Bush did that were positive. Do you disagree? It appears so. Tell us what you disagree about. What did I say that isn't true in your mind? Can't we discuss the issue without blanket insults to anyone who disagrees?

No offense intended, the bush supporters are brainwashed that is not an insult but a fact. As for you calling me anything, already been there and done that. You refer to 'stupid' people all the time and I am not offended in the least. The same judgements you use can be used spider. I believe that all bush supporters are brainwashed and I have that right. I have held none of your beliefs against you so please do the same for meflowerforyou

Okay, sure, let's argue. I'm bored.

Could you quote me calling someone stupid?

And as I already said...even in the very post you replied to...I am not a Bush supporter. I'm not. Not in the least. He has screwed up a lot and I'm not happy with him. Got it? But I can still find things that Bush has done that I think are positive. I'm not somebody who is blinded by partisan rhetoric. I can admit when a Democrat has done something which I think is positive. I can also admit when someone who has greatly let me down (Like President Bush) does something that I agree with.

Well and considering it was not our "job" to dethrone him nor had he intiated or participated in 9/11, I think that accomplishment is not a real concrete deal. We should not be in Iraq at all, they did not do 9/11, had nothing to do with 9/11, Saddam has never struck us on our soil, Iraq is not the homeland for terrorists, terrorists are not all arab and WHERE THE HELL IS THE PERPETRATOR OF 9/11??? The perpetrator of 9/11 would be an accomplishment especially if he is found in Iraq, now that would be something to celebrate.
