THIS GUY MAKES A GOOD POINT
This was written by a construction worker in Fort MacMurray...he sure Makes a lot of sense to me! Read on... I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my Taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay cheque, I work on a rig site for a Fort Mac Construction project, I am required to pass a random urine test, with Which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my Taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare cheque because I Have to pass one to earn it for them ... ? Please understand - I have no problem with helping people get back on Their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their Arse drinking beer and smoking dope. Could you imagine how much money the provinces would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance cheque ... ? And just a side note, I have received public assistance checks in the past, and will probably be doing so again. due to being laid off. I have absolutely no problem with having to pee in a cup in order to receive benefits (just let me have a cup of coffee first so we are not waiting all day, lol) |

People on any kind of hand out, should be drug free and possibly alcohol free(if you can't support yourself, you shouldn't be drinking). And I work 2 jobs where there's random urine tests and have no problem submitting to em. |

"You must be drug and alcohol free to receive financial assistance." They have stupid provisions like "You can't make X amount of dollars, or you lose aid" So they quit their jobs. so we should support addicts? |

If you make X amount of dollars, you lose ALL your aid. So they go up to just about the level they lose it and quit their jobs or get themselves fired. Which resets the limits to 0, and they start over. You should hear the people that play the system, you think gov't are criminals, these people are worse. |

I'm a bit tired, it sounded better in my head.

Urine tests are not given to see if you take drugs so they won't give you a job, they are given because it lowers the companies Workman's Comp. Insurance. That is the only reason companies give drug test.
Do I think people on welfare should take drugs....NO. But the context of his statement is sckewed. |

And on a whole nother note, the average cost of a urine test (a 4 panel) that test for Coke, PCP, pot, and anphetamenes cost aprox $50, how often would you have these peole taking them, where are you going to get the funding for it? Take it out of their checks?
