I have no parents, but I'm Army and punish my kids by making them do pt if they act up...

I never had a dad.. Well, not really, but he wasn't in my life. He died 4 years ago.

My dad was a seargent major in the marine corp, but I never remember him raising his voice.
He never had too.
He is dead now...I miss him

My Dad is awesome. He has integrity and is caring. I love his humor.

I am home with a vomitting child. My Dad just came over and brought Gatorade, etc. and a stuffed animal for my child.

He is not doing well, though. He is 70 y/o with severe COPD.

Yes, I know what you mean dear. There are some fathers that don't know exactly how to parent. They do their best, but it's not often easy on the child.

My father was drafted into the Navy during the Vietnam war. It wasn't really for him, though, and he left after his required time. My father is more the quiet, introspective type. He is outwardly very caring, especially to children. Good thing too, becuase he is a pediatrician... laugh But was not at all the military type.
