Depends on what you mean by "serious." I'm looking for two things here. I'm looking for people anywhere to e-mail me, talk to me on the phone and exchange snail mail letters with me to see if we're compatible, etc. I probably wouldn't go a long distance to see someone, though, but I do get to central Jwrsey, West Virginia and San Diego once every five years or so and could probably see someone close then. I'm also looking for face to face meetings here in my local area, Jackson and Scott counties in Southern Indiana. So far, people e-mail me a few times, and then drop off. They don't do me the courtesy of saying "I don't want to talk to you anymore because of...." even, which rots. One girl did. She dumped me after a couple of dates saying she wanted to pursue another relationship. That was cool, I guess.

But, I'm still hanging on and I'm still gonna try. My problem right now is recovering from a shoulder separation. Too much time on the computer makes my arm and shoulder ache at night and the following day, so I'm going to have to slack off here. I figure if people send me their phone # and address the first couple e-mails or stuff, I can contact them even if my computer crashes and I can call and make dates, if they bother returning my calls.

Serious'll come later, I guess. I'm starting with the getting to know you stuff. I'll do a correspondence with anyone.

Ideally, I'd want someone who could visit me here at home and have me visit them for an hour or two at a time. I like to hang out, drink a cup of coffee or a coke or two and split. I'm not looking for an overly physical relationship cause I go to church and I don't buy that anymore. It led me to get too entangled with someone I should probably break off with, anyway.

That's my definition of serious. I've yet to find it. But I'm hoping and praying and I think it's just a matter of time. Either that, or it's a matter of adjusting my style, which might be done. I'm still thinking about that one.

My 2 cents worth and JMO (Just My Opinion).

Later.

George

Lemme know what you think, if you want.

Ya know I'd love to believe that! I am usually the optimist, but doubt has shown up!

I have changed from looking for a serious relationship to looking for serious friendships. It is working a lot better than just looking for the one. I am finding harmony because of it with my family of two (when I count my dog, lol-my dog and me make two); my neighbors and my community. I don't feel today like there is something missing in my life because with my mom's help I have become more independent. Its a great feeling but it took some time to come to this way of feeling. Needing others less and becoming more confident in myself to get my needs and wants met. Always thought for a while that I would never be able to dapt to the single lifestyle but it is really becoming a desirable way to live. Today I am okay by myself.

so serious here....just have to weed out the bad from the good and go from there. Have spent more time weeding but that gives me an even better idea of what I'm wanting in a relationship rather then just settlingflowerforyou

Did you ever wonder if your perfect mate is sitting somewhere in his/her own home wondering the same thing? It should be much easier to find each other. ohwell ohwell

I'm seriously looking but I know that to find right one usually takes a long time. There will be lots of twists, turns, and disappointments along the way. The good side of it is that I get to meet some interesting women along the way!

Yes Im sure there are alot of people out here looking for serious relationships why else would we all be here talking about this subject. The down fall is when do you know you have found the right one. This format thats based on a few photos and a few short words in our profiles doesnt really tell a persons whole story. Then you have the problem that maybe the next person will be even better than the one your considering now. Can you ever be happy and just settle for the first one that comes along? its the catch 22 of all the on-line dateing sites. Why just settle when you could have better. so here we all sit thinking mr or ms right is out there some place when it isnt really going to happen unless we take a better look at ourselfs and be more realistic. Does this make any sense or is it pass my bed time.laugh

I agree with you moman..I find myself wondering if this one is the one or is it the next one...I am not happy being lonely..But so many of us meet someone and just dont have the time for a relationship because of all the activities we do and we dont want to give up to make time for the relationship..

I can agree on the idea of just not settling for anyone. My one married friend gave me some advice last night. She told me that I should try flirting back a little bit. She agreed with me that I shouldn't be too over anxious but if I don't atleast try the other one might lose all interest. I think since she has been married for twenty eight years she might be right. I think it like rocket science but she tells me it really isn't that complicated.laugh

It seems to me that people want to find someone right this minute. They don't want to take the time to develop a friendship before jumping into "love". Or, if a person doesn't fit into that mold of who someone thinks they have to have, they don't give the other person a chance. People are also real hesitant to try the distance thing, and based on experience and what others have posted here, the local fair is pretty slim. frown
So my answer is that I would seriously like to find someone that I enjoy being with and who feels the same about me, but I'm not betting that is will happen! indifferent
