Number one is are they responsive. If they respond to my e-mails, letters and phone calls, they're a candidate for a proposed date. If we can't get together on a time and place, then I'll still e-mail till things either fizzle out or pick up again.

I've found JSH to be an iffy thing both with people far away and people close. But that's OK. I've got so much other stuff to do, I don't have much time to meet other people anyway. Turns out, I'll have about a day or two a month free for running around with someone, tops, I think.

Good health is important, but not a dealbreaker. I like nonsmokers and nondrinkers. I like observant Christians, protestant, hopefully not Apostolic or strict Pentacostal, and I like folks that don't keep pets in the house and keep a neat house free of junk, trash and clutter.

Over than being overly picky like that, I'm pretty agreeable.

I hate to focus on the negative; but I don't care for smokers or drinkers or drug users.

I don't like people who can't string coherent sentences together.

I don't like people who are quick to be rude when they feel they have been offended.

I don't care for people who are focused on a person's outer beauty rather than the inner beauty.

Most important is non-smoking; next would be location...within 50 miles or less.

Is it just me or have you found that the older we get, the picker we become (another way of putting it is, set in our ways) or as I refer to it as....I'm too damn old to changelaugh

As for a potential partner, just accept me as I am. I do smoke(with intentions of quitting in the near future). I do love animals and have a cat, which is strickly indoors. I do keep a clean neat house for the most part but there are just days I say the hell with it and let cleaning slide...hell I work a full time job...paying bills takes priority over cleaning.

Upon meeting someone...I will enjoy thier company until I see red flags, such as being too needy or clingy, emotionally unstable or just wanting to control me. I would hope they have an IQ higher then 50 and a sense of humor.

I have to agree with Yashafox,

The single most important criteria is that she’s willing to communicate.

If she won’t even reply to an email I think that pretty much weeds her out right there.
