I told a couple family members that I'd joined an online dating site, which they said must be out of desperation.
I don't know, it kind of made me feel ashamed!  I was wondering if anyone has encountered similar remarks, and how they deal with it?! (also I need some reassurance!) Thanks so much~ |

all I can say is.... you are you, if you signed up, not feeling ashamed, don't let anyone else make you feel something that you arent. Did that make any sense whatsoever?

I AM desperate, but don't feel like there is anything bad with that!! I look at it this way... it is putting my computer to work!

You shoulda heard the people I work with when they found out I actually met someone in person from another site. Won't be sharing that info again anytime soon.

I tell everyone at work all your jokes...they eat it up.
I think my boss is interested in joining now. Oh no! I won't tell my mother though, or she'll start lining up dates with all her friends sons again. I can't have that!

Ask them if they would rather you try to meet people at a bar! Wow, that's the ticket!! Should shut 'em up, hey!! I haven't felt weird or ashamed of being on here and I'll tell folks about it. 2 of my friends on here, (real life friends), have found wonderful partners here.
