Actually Vinegar will help take out the smell if no carpet cleaner then use a sponge with vinegar in the water and clean it up. The vinegar will eliminate the smell as well. It also works wonders if you burn popcorn in a Microwave all you have to do is put a small bowl of vinegar in the Microwave put it on about 3 minutes and it will make the smell totally go away.
