It took only 6 months for Bush's hair to turn white from when he first took office from the stress. How long do you give for Obama?I think 6-8 months sounds about right.

JFK's hair never turned white... it's not the amount of stress one is under, it is how one manages that stress that counts. I suspect he is a great stress manager... he has Michelle. :-)

Being a President does take a toil on the them.

I heard a story when I was a kid about someone who experienced a trauma and the result was a streak of white hair. I have also heard about people who experienced stroke or high fever and had their hair turn white.

Those were stories and I haven't seen any real evidence that someones hair can turn white overnight due to shock, fever or fright.

It does make sense that someones hair might turn gradually white when they are stressed.

I imagine the presidency is pretty stressful.

In four years...it will show on Obama.

I don't think I have ever seen a president this in control of his emotions. Though I think he has aged just in the past year. I think he will deal with the stress the same way he has dealt with it so far. It might show in his face and hair, but people that have self control don't usually lose it over time, unless there is a major catastrophe.

There are some folks that show self control for the public then lose it in private, though he doesn't seem to be one to go in for hysterics.

Well how old is Obama anyway? I heard 47 but if that’s the case, he looks fantastic. I’m sure he will color his grays if that begins to happen. It’s not as if we don’t possess that technology. I have been known to do a little touch up here and there. I am 36 after all.

One of his aides said yesterday that the campaign has already given him gray hairs.

I see the difference in the past year.

I don't know if I believe that stress does that. It could be hereditary for his age.

Shh! Down boy! I like older men by the way. Shhhh. Don’t tell anyone though.

This is offtopic

I think Obama looks really good for his age. Of course he is wearing makeup in those public speeches (as they all do) but he does look very handsome. He comes across as very polished also.

I started going gray at 19.

Stress and genetics are the the main factors in going gray.

I heard something interesting during all this political coverage of the last few days. Barbabra Walters who has interviewed I believe each of the president pictured above say the only president who left office happy was Reagan.
