I was reading Republican Gemorrah (sp?) and they discussed that Sarah Palin's church believes that Satan had sex with Eve and begat Cain (the Third Wave, I think it is called) and therefore all people with high intelligence are actually descended from Satan. Is this accurate?

I think it must have been a joke site to try and describe Sarah as more angelic because she isnt as intelligent.

There are many forms of christianity cause people can't agree most the time and they think what they think is correct no matter what proof or evidence the other has for his/her side.

But i've pondered on the same question i meen there's
baptist
catholics
7th day adventist
pentacostal
church of christ
and so on, but it all boils down to people's interpretations of the bible. In my eyes it's work of the devil. He blinds us to certain things causeing these different denominations. Thus resulting in us not being united together in the lord's name. It's easier for him to screw with us having us seperated like this. Cause just debation over the bible with most people causes anger and frustration and both those are sins. He does this cause he knows if we all united he then has lost.

A Catholic priest once told me that there are over 3000 Christian denominations in the US. Of course, some are very, very small groups of people.

(8) Restoration "The Latter Rain Movement" by Rev. Robert S. Liichow, 1997
"After the Assemblies of God denounced this movement and excommunicated some ministers it died down as a movement per se. Yet its heretical teachings were never abandoned and they took root in the Charismatic Renewal Movement of 1967, the Discipleship/Shepherding Movement, and all of the other alleged moves of the Holy Spirit, up to and including the Holy Laughter Movement in Toronto which has some of the original N. Battleford people involved in it." And now, apparently, the A/G is subscribing to these doctrines again through influence of the Toronto "Blessing" through the Pensacola "Outpouring".

Apparently, they are Restorative/Dominion Xians, whose worldview is based on the need to fight demonic powers, etc. And if they almost got one of their on to be Vice-President than we are in for a good run of craziness (no offense to those Third Wave Xians out there)

Well, it has to be a form of Christianity since there is a devil and Adam and Eve so it is one form of it.

There are lots of different forms of Christianity out there in answer to the thread question.

satan impregnating Eve? that's a new one on me..that could explain Palin's behavior. Then again, the Mormons believe that God came down on a spaceship and had actual intercourse with Mary to give birth to Jesus, which may explain why the virgin birth is in only one of the gospels..which i guess is plausible theory if you're a sci fi fan, it's more believable than the "I inserted myself into Mary to be born a human and set out on a suicide mission to save humanity even though i make the rules and could change them with the snap of a finger" aka christianity.

Well, for convenience I crudely lump them into Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant strains.
If you really want to know how many Christian philosophies there are, my guess is that it roughly correlates to the number of practicing Christians.

-Edited to cover my sub-par typing skills (practice is probably a better word than skills).

The sex scandal of Senator John Ensign and Senator Tom Coburn continues to become much more as the weeks go on. The scandal has led to possible criminal charges and resignation and developing insight into their secret society The Family and their properties including the C Street fraternity building in Washington.

On yesterday’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” contributing editor of Harper’s Magazine and author of the new book The Family Jeff Sharlet said a former Family member Ben Daniels interviewed wives of members of The Family and found in their husbands’ lives first comes the loyalty to their brothers of the Family and then comes their loyalty to their own nuclear and extended families.

Dont be surprised by what Politicians may believe in their personal lives. At least they are not held to the same level of scrutiny of other 'celebs' though.

I understand the point that you are responding to, but I would tend to disagree with how you've presented it.

There is only one "form" of Christianity, and the definition of which (to use the term loosely) can be found in the bible - and really - there's no other source.

What I see your mentioning is the breakdown of Denominational_ Interpretation_Christianity, which is not a definition of it - but an attempt at guessing at it. In the overall ontological understanding of Christianity - it is Jesus who defines it for us, not any man's idea of what Jesus meant by it. Therefore - there can be only one Christianity - for it is Jesus who said - "No one gets to the Father but through me."

Sounds like only one way to Christianity to me.

Is that what you were inferring by your post?
