I like being single now. One thing that helped was taking in a boarder. But then I took in a dog and now a cat. Hey, its getting crowded around here.laugh

I know what you mean..., I've had the same kind of girlfriends but I don't want that anymore. I would like a relationship to last last longer than 6 months, I don't do drugs anymore, but I have good qualities.

Y' know, the harder you chase something, the farther away it gets ... relax and lighten up - it'll happen.

....whats wrong with me?

I'd rather be alone than have to deal with another Ms. Catastrophic Delusional Drug-Addled Domesticatrix again.

scared me too

Nothing is wrong with you. These days its hard for all of us to meet anyone. Keep the faith my friend.

I hate being single also. There is no one to accompany me to any event, I still cook for an army of people and have way to many leftovers and I don't like going to sleep alone.

On the other hand, I do like having the whole bed to myself most nights, I have smaller loads of laundry to do and I don't have to pick up stinky socks off the floor anymore.

You read my mind! That is exactly how I feel! Sometimes I stretch out in my queen size bed and think-this is great. But then I also miss spooning someone. And going alone to events stinks. I hear you. I guess we just have to somehow look at the bright side!!! flowerforyou

That's pretty much how I feel, too. Being alone is not a curse: I'm coming to grips with the idea that the person/situation I want just doesn't exist.

Sorry, I had to condense your message to match how I feel!! It does get lonely at times. But, it's better being lonely than miserable!! Last summer I fell really hard for a guy & he ended up going back to his ex wife! One day we were talking of us moving to SC the next it was over! Go figure! lol The whole time we were seeing each other she was nothing but trouble & stalking us. Guess the "B" won!!

I don't mind being single 99% of the time. The 1% remainder is managed effectively by either massive consumption of alcohol or a good cry. Neither really makes me feel better for long, but I only need to get through those brief lapses of insanity so it works for me.

Of course, I think I'm allergic to men. They give me a weird reaction. My heart races, I get hot flashes and cold chills, and I suddenly lose the ability to speak in intelligible sentences. It's a rare disorder. While there's no cure, it's not fatal so I'm copacetic with this whole single thing.shades

ACTUALLY I think you won. And the rat you were dateing got what he deserved some lunatic bimbo who you can only hopes gets crazy and shoots him. You certainly deserve better than that two timer. Better luck next time.

Does anyone feel that after being single for so long it would be hard to do the livin thing again.

Yea. The idea of trying to squeeze someone into my comfortable life is sounding like almost more bother than what it is worth. If I get something going then I have to give up a lot of my space and freedom and probably end up having someone to take care of who expects a maid, a nurse, and a purse and that is less and less appealing.

At different times of our life we are going to experience it like or not. Keep busy don't dwell on it.

I just had a discussion a few days ago with someone about this very thing.

I have been alone for 5 years. It would be a HUGE adjustment for me to go from being by myself, enjoying silence when I want....listening to music when I want....going where I want when I want...to having someone always around.
