Is M2 truly an International site? If so, what does international mean? All languages or no?

I have yet to see any variety of topics in languages other than English.

Are they not allowed or just maybe they are shy due to the disparagement received when they post in their native dialect?

Example. If I was Portuguese and only spoke Portuguese or Spanish, would I be welcome to post here?

Feedback people. Speak up. What do y'all think?

Seems everyone would be 'welcome' to post

but I also imagine, like any other social site, those who participate should expect to know the primary language of the site,,,, which usually is evident from the advertisement or home page

being 'welcome' is not necessarily about whether one speaks another language, but whether one can speak the language of those who set up the site,,,,,and if they can, no matter where they are from, they should expect to participate with no issue

I go to Korean sites, mostly to view videos of music, or look at fashions

but I cant participate in conversation because I don't speak Korean,,,,

personal choice,,,

hi Willing2
I've responded to a couple of posts in Spanish and one in French.
I guess maybe they don't post because they can't read the English??

I believe, if this is an international site, all would be welcome to participate.

If I was from India looking for a local woman, I'm pretty certain, most of the women I wanted to socialize with wouldn't speak english.

This is a social site, no? One where folks get to know each other and can, in groups, relate and make friends,I would imagine.

No there 'not alowed'it may be an international site but you must adhere
to the language of the host country. Its a free site with a PG 13 classification and operates on sponsorship, therefore it needs to be moderated.I would guess that would be the main reason.India alone has 28
reconized languages? I once read.

The host site can outlaw international languages, true.

The US has never voted English as our primary language.

Some states, like, would you believe, Calafornie voted English as its primary dialect?

Why would you be on a forum when you don't speak the language? You wouldn't be able to communicate and join in. I find it rather self-explanatory that everyone speaks English. Normally speaking ppl with international, cultural interests, speak English as well. So what's the big deal?
International to me means ppl from all nationalities are free to join and interact with each other. Would be a tad difficult if each would stick to his/her own language.
And yes, you native speakers English are lucky b@**@rds cos you can basically go anywhere in the world without having to learn another language. Except Morocco. That didn't really work too well in English.

Many Dutch forums you're not allowed to post an English text without Dutch translation. Sort of a similar thing. But I don't implement that rule on my forum.

This is so true...not necessarily fair, but true. Esperanza didn't work, and yes the imperial pig language is the closest thing to an international language available.

A bit funny Crystal, while in Holland I had an easier time understanding English spoken by the Dutch...than the FREEGIN ENGLISH!laugh

.....and sadly the grammar was better than most of the Americans I run in to.laugh

an international site is a site open for all nationalities from all around the globe , but on the other hand , such site should be based on an international language , a language that most of world's population can talk and communicate with .... nothing's better than English in this case .
and as a none-native English speaker , I've had no troubles in this site since i signed up .

There is a difference between a person posting a message in that person's native language and a person posting a message that has nonsense symbols scattered throughout its words.

The latter is what gets negative attention.

Of course nonenglish speakers are allowed on here. You just have to get real good at drawing stick figures and miming. Like, if somebody drew a boot, it would be their way of saying: "Hello, I am from Italy".

I notice an remarkable improvement in the written English of some out of town folks who post regularly.
It's a good thing, and people here are pretty accepting when they see effort in the OP.

I'd get a lil annoyed if people started posting in Swahili laugh

Languages are subjective, to the number of people on any site,
who can read, write, speak, and/or comprehend, any given language.

As a child in Europe, I learned that a person who speaks many languages, is called multilingual.

A person who speaks at least three languages, is called trilingual.

A person who speaks at least two languages, is called bilingual.

And... A person who speaks only one language, is called an American.
A sad but true, overall world view of 'us'.

How could you get annoyed unless you spoke Swahili? If they drew a doughnut, a hyphen and an arrow pointed at you, I'd get it. But a bunch of what appears to be gibberish? Might be a compliment

LOL, the world view of America.... So true and not an understatement of the mentality to only speak American not English, do not mix up the two they are quite different.. lmao
