I'm literally at a loss for words on this one. So many thoughts running through my mind, but I can't keep my mouth shut. At 51 yrs old, I have NEVER asked a man if I look fat...I have eyes...I can see. If I feel good in what I'm wearing that is all that matters. If you don't like it, I promise you, someone else will.

As for compliments...I'm not impressed at all. A lot of men tell 900 different women the same thing, so no, compliments mean nothing. You might could snag an attention whore or maybe a sad pathetic needy woman with meaningless compliments, but most intelligent women know the difference.

Bottom line is, why lie at all? If you can't find something good to say (and mean it) then don't say anything at all.

I think it would be kind to do what you feel comfortable with. If you want the type of gal who likes lies, then you should get one. I wonder what she's like, herself.
