I don't think its just women I have a big yellow lab and to be a responsible owner you have to get up early take them on walks, bath them, proper food and medications, its a challenge sometimes but it is so rewarding. I view my dog as part of the family and if someone did not agree with my lifestyle they would be frustrated with me because that is not going to change.

Ditto... I have had my dog Sassy for 7 years now, she was a rescue approximately a year old when I got her.. I will honor the not letting her on the bed at certain times.. Beyond that they will have to deal with it or move on... Cause she is not going no where nor being put outside.... She is a inside dog...

I doubt that single women with dogs are going to suffer because a single man doesn't want to date a woman with dogs.

Wasn't this already posted earlier?

Anyway, if you don't like women with dogs, don't date women with dogs. It's really that simple. Why complain about responsible pet owners who may have to get home earlier to let their dogs out, or who won't get rid of their dogs just because you don't like them?

Thanks.

I've learned my lesson. I won't date a women with dogs.

You probably wouldn't do well dating a woman with kids either. Just sayin.....

Singing....Marie o's latest song ...

Any they call it puppy love
But I guess I'll never know
For the man who shared my life
Said that dam pups gotta go .. ...

Lmao .. Awww .. Nobody likes ultimatums

Agreed that no one likes ultimatums but I did fight fire with fire. When the guy I dated said the dog comes first in his life and put me second; then I said fine that my friend or brother would come first and he would be second in my life. He didn't like that but I figure all things being equal that this was only fair.

Is it just me?

I find that women with dogs will always put the dog first. Many women think of the dog or dogs as their little children, they sleep with them, snuggle on the couch with them.
They can never stay out for long, they have to get home to let the dogs out, feed the dogs.
They are always thinking about the dogs.
I had one woman who I never met tell me that she would never give up her dog for a man, and her dog would always come first.
One woman had a big dog and called her favorite man.
I'm I the only one who thinks this is crazy?

I won't date a woman with dogs. If I see a picture of the lady with a dog or dogs, I don't even reply.

Ladies, are men like this?".
Ever though a dating a DOG with a woman??surprised

It would be a good idea to add this on the dating sites profile questions. After do you smoke, and do you drink, add do you have dogs and/or cats?

Seriously, some people are allergic to animal dander. Just like cigarette smoke, it can linger on a person. The person would be affected much sooner and more assuredly by dander, than they would second-hand smoke.

Agreed. I had a terrible reaction to my ex-boyfriend's dog and I can't take allergy meds. I think everyone has a right to define what they want and don't want in a relationship. Some people are fine being treated like a second class person in a relationship and others want to be put first. We all have to do what feels comfortable and personally I applaud the Op for his honesty. Goodness knows honesty is very rare these days.

LOL! I don't have a dog, but I do have a Wolf and that is much different . I don't get bothered with ill intentions to say the least! I am the Alpha and she sleeps in her own bed. It is sad that a man can't accept that there are some women out there that doesn't think the world should just contain his ego.

I think its even more sad that someone would treat another person less than an animal. I know how this man feels. You feel like you are nothing to this person because they only care for their pet. I think pet owners need to consider how much you are hurting the person you are supposedly in love with. I know people who have ended marriages because they got taken for granted over a pet. Maybe pet owners need to see the other side of the coin and I wonder how they would feel if someone treated them like they didn't matter and put someone else ahead of them in a relationship. I wouldn't trust my life with a pet owner as they would probably let me die just to save their pet.

never date anyone who treats their pets better than people.

or accept one self as less than a pet.

as one should never forget, Hitler loved animals, but hated most people.

My last dog died 3 years ago at 17 yrs of age. I obviously loved the dog (had her for 17 yrs) but the last 2 yrs of her life was a pita. I had to be home. Dating was impossible. I have not gotten another dog and have no plans for the future. Met a guy online who seemed very normal, was within 2 hrs of me yet after 4 mos of talking and texting we still had not met. He had 5 dogs and they consumed his life. I just gave up.

I'll go for the no pet guy. I don't do cats, at all. Allergic. I always ask if they have kids/dogs/cats. It's all about choices and priorities.

Even though I hardly agree with anything you say,tongue2 (joking:laughing: )this is so true, and should never be,loving your pets to death its all good,I have strong love animals myself, but I don't think some even realize the damage that that is doing in a relationship, great navy girl!!!

Disclaimer: I love animals...but

SOME dog owners are quite obsessive when it comes to their dogs. I have experienced some people's over the top enthusiasm for their particular dog/s and I must say it can be off putting. Nauseating even. From...continuous look at my pictures to..constant conversation referrals to...you wanna hold my little coochy swoochy little love ball...isn't he the cutest!!???...My dog is the best runner/catcher/agility/walker/trickster ever...Aww look he likes you, he peed on your purse!...He doesn't mean it when he bites...He always shows his teeth when he's happy! Don't worry about the drool it washes right out!!...They can't meet you for lunch without them, they dress them up, organize events for them (and expect you to attend) and are offended when you don't share this enthusiasm. I'm not talking about potential lovers just friends...I can't imagine being in a relationship with someone whe acts this way...

A commitment to dog ownership should be a given or else why have them. They are great companions and it is nice to have a furry being greet you at the door at the end of the day. I respect that. But please lets have a healthy relationship with our pets that doesn't preclude all else...
