CAIRO/AMMAN (Reuters) - Islamic State militants released a video on Tuesday purporting to show a captive Jordanian pilot being burnt alive, and Jordanian state television said he was murdered a month ago.

Reuters could not immediately confirm the video, which showed a man resembling the captive pilot standing in a black cage before being set ablaze.

The pilot, Mouath al-Kasaesbeh, was captured by Islamic State insurgents after his plane crashed over Syria while on a bombing mission against the group in December. Jordanian state TV said Kasaesbeh had been killed on Jan. 3.....................

AMMAN (Reuters) - Jordan hanged two Iraqi jihadists on Wednesday including a female militant in response to an Islamic State video appearing to show a captured Jordanian pilot being burnt alive by the hardline group.

Islamic State had demanded the release of the woman, Sajida al-Rishawi, in exchange for a Japanese hostage who was later killed. Sentenced to death in 2005 for her a role in a suicide bomb attack in Amman, Rishawi was executed at dawn, a security source and state television said.

Jordan, which is part of the U.S.-led alliance against Islamic State, has promised an "earth-shaking response" to the killing of its pilot, Muath al-Kasaesbeh, who was captured in December when his F-16 crashed over northeastern Syria.

Authorities also executed a senior al Qaeda prisoner, an Iraqi man who was sentenced to death in 2008.

The fate of Kasaesbeh, a member of a large tribe that forms the backbone of support for the country's Hashemite monarchy, has gripped Jordan for weeks and some Jordanians have criticised King Abdullah for embroiling them in the U.S.-led war that they say will provoke a militant backlash.

The Jordanian army has vowed to avenge his death, and some analysts believe it could escalate its involvement in the campaign against Islamic State, which has seized large areas of Iraq and Syria, Jordan's neighbours to the north and east..............

Yea, they should give all pilots (and journalist) suicide capsules or something to avoid torture.

ISIS messed up on this one. They didn't mess with a country that has a puss for a president like Obama. The ruler of Jordan is a former Special Forces Commander who is more comfortable in the fight then rubbing elbows with world leaders and he has already promised severe retaliation.

Jordan has the means to do it with a 200,000 strong arms with a large Air Force and Special Forces and Counter Terrorism units.

Clearly you know nothing about the military. They don't do that. That is why they, especially pilots go through advanced SERE training.

Right now we actually have a chance to wipe out ISIS. The internationally community is outraged and ready to go to war to wipe out these monsters. Including many Islamic Nations.
