Well, there are certainly bad apples in the bushel. What you need to do is build a petition and a network of voices on the issue to bombard her office with letters, emails & the like. All politicians in congress, straight or crooked, have one thing in common, they're ellected officials. If enough people make a stink, usualy they'll listen;^]

Your idea would never work, like you said, because people are afraid to lose their jobs.....losing money. Fixing your government is just one bullet away...oops did I just say that outloud???? Yes, Canada will save your country and you will all have to bow down to the almighty Queen!!!  At least we'd have health care...lol @sumthindifferant, I'm with ya on that in part, afterall segregation finaly ended. I keep hearing these rallies about the war but nobody seems to be picketing for gay marriage, action in darfur, did join a small one in staunton against the oil hikes, not that I really had anything to give up...lol. Still, action is needed for change to happen, but much of america has either gone lazy or as gypsy stated, has too much to lose. But I think it's equaly important to put an emphasis on voting the issues, writing to your congressman, and in general have your voice be heard;^] Turtle, I agree with ya bud! And glad you made some stands! It doesn;t have to be for "you" specifically, but whats best for EVERYONE! that's the point! But now Congress and Senate are BOUGHT AND PAID FOR! keep a watch on the Internet news from around the Palm Springs area of CA just after the first of the year. There is going to be a picket sign right outside the Palm Springs office of Congresswoman Mary Bono...and guess who will be holding that sign??? ME!!!! Why? because her.her office gave me the "political "stroke-off" regarding the "passport" problem, even when it was sitting on the agenda in Congress. They basically tried to blow me off! (Under any other circumstances that kind of thing from her would be a welcome thing...but...) and gave me some babble chit about talking with the DOJ (Department of Justice) etc. etc. In short, I'm going to have her, in person, stand in front of me and explain in detail WHY she ignored my specific information and did the "political dance" around a very valid issue that was sitting right in front of Congress at that time! It may or may not make the news..but I'll even cam it to put it up on the internet just to show. But THEY do NOT do thier jobs! Did you know they onlt WORK 2 days a week!!??? And the other 3 or more are used for FUND RAISING!!!???? WTF IS THAT!!?? So no friend, it's time we have to take it back ourselves or we lose it all together! Hey Gypsie..MARRY ME!! I need the medical!!!  uhhhhhhhhhhhhh pardon????  how about I just operate on you now!!!!

But just like anything..after a while you start to "tune out" the barking dog next door. same in everything. I am now 42 years old. I was aware and even in a way active in "politics" at the age of 7 and could tell you every candidate and the platforms they stood on (i don;t know why..ask my mother, she reminded me of all this chit! LOL) And many of the SAME issues STILL are here without EVER being RESOLVED! HEALTH CARE! SOCIAL SECURITY! ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! EDUCATION!! And SO MUCH MORE! WHY!!?? In OVER 40 YEARS WHY can;t they FIX IT!!??? The answer is because of "special interests!" And the "powers that be" control it..NOT the people! I worked with Congressman Steve Largent in Tulsa for almost 2 years (this was back in the early-mid 1990's) when the Intenet stuff was just popping up) Very SIMPLE way of help to contain the "porn" problem on the internet from getting to our children. You know all the .coms, .nets,, .org, etc?? Pass a law requiring any American site that has "adult material" (porn) to be required to have an extension of .adlt meaning it has adult content. And if the site breaks that, the feds come in and tag them with heavy fines/jail. Would have taken care of 80% of that problem here in the US! Now, what happened?? It got chitcanned!!! Why?? Sex=MONEY and you might be amazed at how much money other "legit"companies have invested in these side "porn" style places! Clear problem, EASY SOLUTION, but all for NOTHING! Wow, I can really ramble can;t I?? Sorry but I just hate our government because they continue to screw the American people! (and without any lube, kiss or even a lolly-pop when they are done) So now..its ACTION or nothing at this point.

Yeah, but that's why you don't stop, if she refuses to make anything happen, you gotta get the people together & campaign to vote her out office. There's still good politicians out there, but people don't see 'em through the medias mask & this belief that voting doesn't help. An organised voting campaign can go a long way if you get the support, it's a major action;^]

An organised voting campaign can go a long way if you get the support, it's a major action;^] Once again bro, wish it was like that. Steve Largent could have ran more and continued to win! But he stepped down after his last term because the rest of the "carreer politicians" already set on the hil have it "locked up" and he even stated he was fighting a battle that can NOT be won there. And that was back in the 90's! The people, at ground level, now have to shake the foundation, tear it down and rebuild. Otherwise you might as well be using "chicken wire and duct tape" to fix a BIG BROKEN engine.

is that hat made here? lol if we could ever get the prople off thier couches, away from the ball game and listening, i believe we could make a big diff, but we have to spread the gospel far and wide. thats where i need help with this. if everyone does a part it will work, but where are the people? weve got to get thier attention. and we need a golden attack plan, multi frontal assult from all sides. rallys, websites, marches,billboards, posters, petitions, using the press, purchacing only us, ect. im sure those are only SOME of the things we can do. please feel free to contact me with any ideas. you can share them here mabe a poster contest would be in order. ( im seeing a sillouette of a kid against a closed factory crying for food..... caption... - insert pic of your kid here.) Hey its a work in progress. |

The biggest problem is cost of product. As much as we all talk about being willing to spend more for american made rather than foriegn, the simple fact is the basic neccesities of life, we can not afford to go straight american. With gas, yes for in town transportation we should walk, bike, bus or even carpool. I do all those things. However now you have to consider the fact that most people have a ten mile or more commute to get to work, and nothing but driving your own car is much of a choice. A few people might be able to carpool, but more and mroe we are getting away from set hour office jobs, and going to shift work and whatnot, so noone is ever able to truly get something going like this.

we cant afford not to is my gospel. the more we do the better the economy will get. its simple math. theres an old saying about movements like this, its hard to get started, in this case for the exact reason you state, and when a few people are involved, but later, everyone will want to join when they see it could actually work and thier are already millions of people involved. . ( or something to that effect)
i think there are a fair amount of people already on board, we just need to reach them, and more. |

Ive got to go to wal mart to get some chinese underwear made in laos by korean kids from materials from mexico, so ill ck back later.
mabe well get lucky and find out that all bras are foreign made. there could be perks involved with this. lol Bill |

I wonder where our economy would be if foreign nations stopped buying our corn or our tobacco. Where would foreign nations economies be if we stopped buying their products. Hmmmm, I think we're a pretty selfish teenage nation. Oh well, I guess my sony equip. is american made, not that I really care..lol;^]

exports = profit for us. not a problem. Imports without tarriffs are a recipe for economic colapse. for proof look out your window. i went for a drive yesterday and noticed that there are about as many closed businesses here as open ones.
any questions? Buying foreign under free trade is a recipe for your kids getting a part time job at Mdonalds with no benifits. is this the legacy we are willing to leave our kids? |

Actualy, here in VA we're on a surplus last I heard. Imports = Profit for them, why should we monopolise profit? We take everything for granted here, and we have more food than mouths to feed, maybe we should support import products based on worker rights and ethical business practice. They need economic growth too;^]

Or computer programming, web site design, game programmer, producer, actor, resteraunt owner, etc etc. As if mcdonalds is the only option..lol;^]

Who can't AFFORD to take ONE WEEK out of thier lives and MAKE A STAND FOR THE BETTER OF ALL AMERICA!!??? Some might say "I can't "AFFORD" to..my answer would be "YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO, IF YOU ARE IN THAT BAD OF SHAPE!" Some may say "I could lose my job!"..my answer is "Who's going to fire you if YOUR BOSS is STANDING THE LINE WITH YOU!?" There is ALMOST NO LEGITIMATE REASON WHY ANYONE AND EVERYONE CAN'T UNITED FOR JUST ONE WEEK! IN THAT TIME WE CAN BRING THE GOVERNMENT TO IT'S PROPER PLACE, BRING BUSINESS TO ITS KNEES AND RESHAPE THE ENTIRE COUNTRY FOR THE BETTER! ONE DAMN WEEK! I CAN SEE IT! CAN YOU!!???? |
