Why is everyone here telling me to man up and ask her go on a date ?? the reason i started this topic was to get some pick up lines for a ball dance on the 14th as you see from the example the first attempt didn't go so well , i have a difficulty conversing in a as you say "cool" way. i think the best i have gotten is the conquer France one  Don't worry about a pick up line. Just relax and be yourself. Talk about things that you know she is interested in and let that segue into asking her out. If she is interested in you, any way you phrase it will work. If she is not interested, no "line" in the world is going to work. Nobody can tell you how to be "cool." It comes with confidence. If you don't have confidence, women can smell it, like a dead fish. Sorry man, such is life. |

Mystic River. Most boring movie ever! The Mystic River that got nominated for 6 Academy Awards? I admit, I haven't seen it, but how bad could it be? I just couldn't sit through it. first off, texts are really easy to misunderstand. If you like this girl, CALL her and explain, then leave it alone for a little while. It'll work out, or it won't, but that's life. I completely agree ... what has happened to the younger generation? Can they *ONLY* communicate via text-messaging? For goodness sakes, get on the phone (i.e. voice) or better yet, get together in person and talk it over. How do you expect a relationship to blossom if you can't get face-to-face and really talk ?!?!? Have someone break your thumbs. |

FYI
Madden NFL has announced they have played the Super Bowl out and the Saints will be the winner by 3 points. They have correctly predicted 5 out of the last 6 Super Bowls AND correctly predicted the NFC and AFC championship games. I just found that interesting. |

there is a ball dance on the 14th and it's not like i didn't have the courage to ask someone but this is how it went Me: hi , i heard about the ball dance are you going ? She: ugh no, hey i didn't you say you don't know how to dance Me: yeah i don't but how hard can it be..( i know i should have stopped here ) just follow a series of body movement's corresponding to the beat's of the music in some complex mathematical function. * uncomfortable laughter by her * She: hey i have to go for my materials of science lecture ( thankfully it was true) Later when i called her on her mobile phone Me: so you going to the dance ? She: No actually i'm going back home for the weekend Irrelevant conversation about studies..The End so i see what the problem is but i just don't know how to react in a "non-nerd" way spontaneously, any suggestion's ? I would have just said "Who said anything about dancing? I was just going to spike the punch." Your answer wasn't half bad. I wouldn't say it was a total loss. She's going home for the weekend, so if you're still interested in her, then ask her out on a date, when she gets back. i would ask her out on a date as soon as i get some idea how she feels about me, so was hoping for something between a date and studying together in the library. the problem is if i keep responding in similar fashion i'm bound to get rejected Grow some balls and ask her out on a real date. If you just study together, you will enter the "friend" zone. Rejection sucks, but it's better than that. |
