See, now I cant see this as being a good thing.

All year, we tell our children not to take gifts off strange men.

Then we say that we should call the police if someone breaks into the house.

So, on 25th December a fat old madman driving 6 flying reindeer will land on the house, climb down the chimney, eat the mince pie, drink the sherry/brandy/bottle of vodka and leave gifts all over the house.

... AND WE SANCTION THIS???
No wonder our children are neurotic!

Happy christmas Duncan but there are eight reindeer.laugh

In America the poor old guy would be shot dead for entering the house unannounced and some redneck would eat the reindeer.Merry Christmas!!

Thats what I just said, you cant allow one group to pray and not another. Not in any other rooms. Nowhere. Because you cant have observe form of prayer to the exclusion of all others. It becomes unrealistic to allow for ALL form of religious expression. If thats what you meant, then I apologize.

It's what I meant but I made a poor attempt at humor.Peaceflowerforyou

If someone wants to utter a silent prayer to themselves, whats the harm. There is no reason to have a specific "prayer time" in public, state funded schools because then you are singling out Christianity and giving it a place of privilege.

I agree.if a Muslim or anyone wants to pray go to the bathroom.Great acoustics and no one gives a crap.

I would agree if we only had to religions in this country, but just wait, Muslims will not be the last to demand time as the christians have. What is the problem with dealing with your faith before school and not in school? Can anyone see a problem with this, it would solve the whole problem.

Well I do believe thats why they built churches, mosques, temples etc so you can go and worship in a place of peace and learn the tenets of your chosen faith.Public school is not a house of worship nor should it be.

Well thats just the point. Are you gonna sit there and tell the Muslim kids or the Jewish kids or the Wiccan kids or the Hindu kids sorry, make way for the big JC. Thats a load of crap.

My point is no one should be praying in public school and if you must, go to the one room where no one cares .

I have been homeless and hungry but I believe the USA feed a lot of Third World Countries poor and we don't need the UN to tell us hunger sucks.I just wish we would focus on our hungry people. It angers me that farmers are payed subsidies not to farm or grow certain things.Lets bring back agriculture and teach our kids to grow food so hunger is a thing of the past.
Much of the causes of hunger overseas is corrupt government officials stealing the supplies.Let the UN address that problem.

I think listening with your brain and actually absorbing what people are saying and examining it with an open mind is the key. Many people are black and white thinkers.Me,I know there are grey areas and I try not to close my mind off to other people's perspectives or points of view. It's good to agree to disagree sometimes.

i am a farther of two beautiful children i love and adore.and would lay my life down for anytime.how ever in the state i live in i have not been abble to adapt to the way people live or think here.so i must move to a place where i can be productive.it means i give up a lot of rights.but in the past my son has shown much anger towards his mom after being with me.so it makes sence that if his niot being around me helps him at home and school.that i should be the bigger parent and stay out of the picture till hes old enough to understand.that i will always be different then his mom.and the love he gets from me will be different.still thinking about his life and education is more important then my want mor need to see him just an example of whatwe as parents should be thinking about.not ourselve
what a load of crap.keep living the dream buddy while your ex actually raises the kid.my ex pays child suport but hasn't seen his kid in 2 years. My son blames himself and has much anger towards his Dad also.so stop running and start being a FATHER.

RE: Gala Christmas Party

I'm happy to inform you that the company Christmas Party will take place on December 23, starting at noon in the private function room at the Grill House. There will be a cash bar and plenty of drinks! We'll have a small band playing traditional carols...feel free to sing along. And don't be surprised if our CEO shows up dressed as Santa Claus! A Christmas tree will be lit at 1:00 PM. Exchanges of gifts among employees can be done at that time; however, no gift should be over $10.00 to make the giving of gifts easy for everyone's pockets. This gathering is only for employees!

Our CEO will make a special announcement at that time!

Merry Christmas to you and your family,

Patty

RE: Gala Holiday Party

In no way was yesterday's memo intended to exclude our Jewish employees. We recognize that Hanukkah is an important holiday, which often coincides with Christmas, though unfortunately not this year. However, from now on, we're calling it our "Holiday Party." The same policy applies to any other employees who are not Christians and to those still celebrating Reconciliation Day. There will be no Christmas tree and no Christmas carols will be sung. We will have other types of music for your enjoyment.

Happy now?

Happy Holidays to you and your family,

Patty

RE: Holiday Party

Regarding the note I received from a member of Alcoholics Anonymous requesting a non-drinking table ... You didn't sign your name.

I'm happy to accommodate this request, but if I put a sign on a table that reads, "AA Only," you wouldn't be anonymous anymore. How am I supposed to handle this?

Somebody?

And sorry, but forget about the gift exchange, no gifts are allowed since the union members feel that $10.00 is too much money and the executives believe $10.00 is a little chintzy.

REMEMBER: NO GIFT EXCHANGE WILL BE ALLOWED.

RE: Generic Holiday Party

What a diverse group we are! I had no idea that December 20 begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which forbids eating and drinking during daylight hours. There goes the party! Seriously, we can appreciate how a luncheon at this time of year does not accommodate our Muslim employees' beliefs. Perhaps the Grill House can hold off on serving your meal until the end of the party or else package everything for you to take it home in little foil doggy baggy. Will that work?

Meanwhile, I've arranged for members of Weight Watchers to sit farthest from the dessert buffet, and pregnant women will get the table closest to the restrooms.

Gays are allowed to sit with each other. Lesbians do not have to sit with Gay men, each group will have their own table. Yes, there will be a flower arrangement for the Gay men's table.

To the person asking permission to cross dress, the Grill House asks that no cross-dressing be allowed, apparently because of concerns about confusion in the restrooms. Sorry.

We will have booster seats for short people.

Low-fat food will be available for those on a diet.

I am sorry to report that we cannot control the amount of salt used in the food . The Grill House suggests that people with high blood pressure taste a bite first.

There will be fresh "low sugar" fruits as dessert for diabetics, but the restaurant cannot supply "No Sugar" desserts. Sorry!

Did I miss anything?!?!?

Patty

RE: The F*%#ing Holiday Party

I've had it with you vegetarian pricks!!! We're going to keep this party at the Grill House whether you like it or not, so you can sit quietly at the table furthest from the "grill of death," as you so quaintly put it, and you'll get your fu&*^%g salad bar, including organic tomatoes. But you know, tomatoes have feelings, too. They scream when you slice them. I've heard them scream. I'm hearing them scream right NOW!

The rest of you %*#$'ing weirdos can kiss my *ss. I hope you all have a rotten holiday!

Drive drunk and die,

The B* from HE*^!!!!!!!!
