Thank you, GetHappy, for bringing this up. This is something I've said in several threads here. Breaking it down once again:

THE IRAQI CITIZENS/"GOVERNMENT" DOESN'T WANT US TO LEAVE.

Why?

Simple. Is there any welfare recipient who actually WANTS to be "dropped from the rolls"? Iraq is now a welfare state, and the US Government is happily signing the welfare checks. The Iraqis have ZERO interest in running their own country or defending themselves. And really, why should they? They've got us to do it for them. America collectively said that "We'll be there as long as it takes". Lifetime coddling! Music to a welfare recipient's ears! And no matter who wins in 2008, we'll continue to do so.

Oh, man, Thursieflowerforyou , I totally forgot those two!

The tragic part is that, even as a small child, I remember watching Red Skelton and enjoying that show.

Hey, here's another one I forgot:

PHIL SILVERS!

And there you have it. Well, I'm waiting. I want to hear what you think of this list--and what's right/wrong with it. I'll post later with my feelings, but there's one thing I'd like to say right now:

WHERE'S BILL BIXBY?????

In my opinion, there's NO WAY you can do a top 100 TV icons list and NOT include this man. His body of TV work speaks foritself. One of the best remembered and most loved TV stars of all time.

Ok, if Bonds is facing perjury charges, why isn't Rafael Palmero?

Palmero not only said UNDER OATH that he never took steroids, he was later CAUGHT doing it.

People mainly despise Bonds because he's a jerk and rude to fans, not because of steroids. If people knew what Palmero was really like off the field, he'd be the most despised man in sports. Ask Ryne Sandburg about ole Raffy.

I don't know, maybe he really DID sit on someone else's needlelaugh

McGuire shouldn't be charged. Sure, we all know he did steroids. But while he came across like a total douchebag in the hearings, he managed to more or less avoid the question.

Looking great, Sportsnutdrinker . Good to see you again. Just think, three Cowboys games in the space of 11 days. Washington on Sunday, Jets on Turkey Day, and the Packers the following Thursday--too bad that one's on NFL Network. I won't get to see itgrumble .

But it's looking good.....real good for our Cowboys right about now.

I give up.

So much for an answer to my questionnoway .

And PLEASE show me where I referred to LEGAL aliens as "unhuman and animals". Hell, for that matter, show me where I referred to ILLEGAL aliens as that.

So, Dragon, going by your rather twisted logic, anything you don't agree with goes into two piles: One for "propaganda", and the other for "racist". I guess if you can't explain it, it MUST be racist or propaganda. I can't believe you've gone on for what, 17 or 18 pages, holding on to your "try to save face by claiming a wild conspiracy theory" desperate argument.

Others have posted links effectively backing up their facts.

YOU, on the other hand, offer nothing in contradiction except for the tired old "If I don't agree with it, it's a lie".

But, trying to be as nice as I possibly can, I'll give you a C+ for "effort" in trying to answer my question. Your result, however, gets an "F", and that's only because grades don't get any worse than that.

Better luck next time.

It might help a bit if ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS were limited to two terms. You've got guys (Hi Ted Kennedy) who's taken elected office and made a career out of it. After two terms, it seems they learn more and more ways of being crookedlaugh . If the President of the United States is limited to two terms, why shouldn't other elected officials?

Or Bush and Hillary Clinton. Both would (and did) say anything to get elected. Both would (and did) show a total disregard for those who voted for them(Bush as President, Clinton as NY Senator).

Dragoness, please explain:

How a person can be branded a "racist" when they're in favor of allowing LEGAL immigrants into America, and NOT allowing ILLEGAL immigrants into America.

Please:

No insults.
No using the term "propaganda".
No dancing around my question. Please be direct.

Good luck to you.

Or when you're replying to an e-mail or posting in the forums, and someone you don't know wants to IM you. You decline, and go on with your business. The next thing you know, you just got a VERY nasty e-mail from that person.

A lot of us know each other from the forums. Some of us e-mail occasionally. That doesn't mean we want to chat on IM with people we've never heard of who are 5,000 miles away.

A lawyer and a priest died on the same day, and found themselves at the Pearly Gates at exactly the same time. An angel appeared, and told them that both had been accepted into Heaven, and that he would be taking them to their eternal living quarters.

They went first to where the priest would be living. One room, bed, small B&W TV, tiny radio, very basic.

The angel then took the lawyer to his living quarters. HUGE mansion with 70 inch color HDTV, state of the art stereo system, service staff, golf course, Olympic-sized pool, the works.

"I don't understand", said the lawyer. "Why do I get all this, and the priest only got that run-down room?".

"Oh, we get priests up here all the time,"said the angel. "You're the first lawyer we've ever had".

What's weird is when someone e-mails you and throws their laundry list of problems at you. You play "nice person" by answering their e-mail with some helpful advice and a few words of encouragement. Next thing you know, they send you another e-mail, this time claiming that they are in love with you and want to marry you.noway

I used to have a policy of "will answer all e-mails", because if someone takes the time and effort to send you one, you should have common decency to at least send some sort of reply.

Not any more. Now, I screen my e-mails (and the sender's profile) VERY carefully. I send out a lot less replies these days.
