I have a tendency to speak what’s on my mind, always and forever. Some people hate me for it, others like me for it. I prefer saying what I think over hypocritically saying something else.

Hello miss Elissa ... libido is complicated .. it can definitely be affected by hormonal, psychological and social influences .. although testosterone and estrogen are the main sex hormones there are other hormones that come into play . For example our mood hormones dopamine and serotonin.. those with depression often suffer a low libido .

It is also said that men have more testosterone production when they are around ovulating women ...(polygamous males generally have the highest libidos) . women generally have a higher libido during ovulation .. so the hormonal cycyle itself can influence levels in the body .. seldom are they static ., levels of cortisol which is s primary hormone can also come into play with production of other hormones .

Likewise , for men .... testosterone levels can increase or decrease depending on the frequency they have sex and how often they orgasm .

.
I am not sure what your current hormone therapy is elissa but you seem very positive, happy and confident about your transition to a woman perhaps that is motivation enough for your libido to go into hyperdrive.

Addit .....Testosterone replacement in menopausal women is still controversial . It is true women do have a very small amount of natural testosterone but progesterone and oestrogen are the primary female hormones that influence female libido . With ageing it is not just our sex hormone production that diminishes .. our cortisol levels and production of pituitary hormones responsible for every function in the body diminish .

Hi Blondey,
I always like your wise insight :)

I’m currently on Estradiol administered through injections. Perhaps the high levels of estrogen caused by injections have something to do with my high libido as well.
I took progesterone in the past. It made me sleepy. Helped a lot with breast development though.

My cortisol and DHEA levels are always very low, my testosterone is basically non existentent.
My FSH and LH ( thyroid hormones ) are completely suppressed.
I’m basically flooded with estrogen :)

I have always had a creative mind and a creative mindset. Maybe that has something to do with it as well. Not sure.

I can easily get aroused although orgasming takes a lot of build up work.
It’s also whole body waves now instead of just locally, so the female orgasms are present.

It’s usually around periods where my boobs get tender and my areolae swell that my sex drive goes in overdrive.

I still have male reproductive organs which might also affect how my nerves in the genitals respond to estrogen.

I also read somewhere that a small portion of women don’t need testosterone to stimulate sex-drive. That estrogen is enough for a happy few. I might be one of those happy few. Since my brain structure as a trans woman is feminine.

It’s still a mystery though why my sex drive is so high.

Even at menopausal levels for both sex hormones ( testosterone and estrogen ) my sex drive was still very high.

I wonder if some people can get aroused, independent of their hormone levels?

Or maybe it is the fact that I feel more comfortable in my body now.

I’m a bit worried about high sex drive. I once read somewhere that it can stimulate levels of prolactin going in overdrive when you orgasm too often.
I really worry about it.
High prolactin can cause blindness.
So orgasming too often could in theory also cause blindness then if that study about orgasming and prolactin was right :-/

Thanks for your insight,
Elissa.
can you post the link to the study Elissa .. most cases of vision disturbance with high levels of prolactin is the result of a pituitary rumour which presses on the optical nerve ., have not heard of frequent orgasm resulting in blindness . Though I now wonder where that old saying originated from laugh prolactin levels are high during pregnancy without any associated blindness . It is an important lactation hormone again dopamine has an important role in its production . Any mood medication or beta blocker (heart medication ) can potentially effect dopamine levels and thus dependent hormones .

That said it is healthy to orgasm .. oxytocin flooding is an important consequencelove

Hi Blondey,

I will look for the link, don’t have it by hand right now.

Blondey, since you are so familiar with natural and traditional medicinal remedies, could you give me some advice about the herb “ Chaste berry / Vitex / Agnus Castus “ ?

Some studies say it helps lower testosterone, others say it elevates it.
It’s often used by women with PMS symptoms and post-menopause women because it balances hormones.
The monks used it to control sexual urges.

Some studies say it lowers testosterone, others say it can raise it.

I have some Vitex at home ( over 120 caps ) but I am not taking them before I have a bit more clarity.
While my testosterone is already immeasurably low, I want to nuke that last bit as well and nuke DHT as well ( to make my hair fuller ).
Could Vitex be of help for me?
Thanks,
Elissa
Xx

I have no basis for insight personally or by example from others.
What I might contribute is just basic reasoning.

Perhaps your levels are a bit off kilter because you are still in a transitioning phase? Your body just might need some time to adjust to the changes. It might be ramped up into overdrive right now.

I don't know the details of your change, only you and your doctor do.
I would consult your doctor who probably has real-world experience with others in your situation. He/she might know better than random people on a dating site. Might be able to enlighten you on what to expect as time progresses.

You might also look for forum sites populated by others who have made or are making a similar change. They may have some real-world insight for you to consider as well.

There also might be certain side-effects unique to your body's chemistry.
Not all side-effects are negative.

I hope you find your answers.

My blood levels are all in the female range.
I’m transitioning since more than 3 years so I’m considered transitioned by my doctors.

Thought I would just ask others’ experience about high libido :)

People take their significant other for granted after a while. Focussing on their career. forgetting about their SO and only thinking about their prestations on the work floor. Because they are on the work floor so much, they meet other people there and from one comes the other.
The person at home who never sees their SO anymore because he or she has to work extra hours will eventually not take the neglect anymore and that leads to cheating by placing ads on the internet or by meeting others in real life.

Some people think that once they are in a relationship they are safe to not take care of their body anymore and they neglect their bodies out of laziness. The other spouse notices that and starts to lose sexual appetite for the other SO and so that person seeks for a person who does take care of his or her body in a proper way.

Many reasons for cheating.

Judging is not always the good thing to do. Analyzing the causes might be more helpful.

yes.. yes.. you can try all of the above herbs or you can just smoke a joint and eat a few cupcakes.. and you will feel great too.

Never tried joints.
They say that some people have a psychosis after a joint. Dissociation can stay for years after drug use or so they say.

They absolutely behaved like true winners today. So proud of the Red Devils.
To me they are the true winners of this World Championship Soccer.
Was so wonderful to see Martinez and the players look so happy and feel so supported.
The true winners were in Brussels today.
Eden Hazard, Vincent Kompany, Thibaut Courtois and all the rest. They have shown what a sympathetic people they are today. Very social, very classy, very accessible.
Belgium is proud.

40000 people only for them in Brussels wrapped in our national colors.

“ Waar is dat feestje? “ “ Hier is dat feestje “
“ Where is that party? “ “ Here is that party “
was what the people screamed today.

I like your sense of humor haha ;-)

Well, being from the North is all goes back to the civil war. We won and the South still doesn't like that. And we like to rub it in sometimes. We shouldn't ..of course, but being A holes.. we can't resist it.... sorry.

You have a lovely way of explaining things!
Always with a bit of humor and honesty :)

Going to bed with a ladyboy in Thailand didn’t make you any less straight, society wants you to believe it’s gay but the vast majority of men would secretely sleep with a Thai ladyboy and these men are straight. Of course they will deny it in your face.
Own it, Geert! You are not the only straight man who secretely browses “ shemale porn “ at night. After all, we are REAL women.

If we were forced to use male bathrooms, we would be in more danger than when using women’s bathrooms.
There is a difference between a man who dresses up as a woman and enters a bathroom to harrass women, or a young trans woman who has neurologically been female her entire life and has been treated with hormone replacement estrogen.

I agree with this. From my experience, men tend to be more threatened by their sexual identity being questioned and anyone who puts that in question is up for their punishment. Enter the trans woman.
Since I am not a man I cant tell you what theyre thinking of course, just what it seems, to me, to be.
If I were trans, I would absolutely be more frightened in a room full of strange men. ...or even one in a mens room. jmo

Men can indeed get very mad if they think that their sexual orientation is threatened.
And I can imagine that it wouldn’t be all that rosy for cis women if trans men were allowed to use female bathrooms.
After having been on testosterone for a while they develop muscle mass like any other man. So even though they have a vagina, their clitoris starts to grow as a mini-penis.
They are stronger than trans women after a few months of hormone therapy.
A trans woman on the other hand loses muscle mass after a few months of anti-androgens.

So it’s safer to arrange bathrooms based on gender identity than on biological sex.
I am of the opinion that hormone therapy should have been administered for a minimum of 6 months and that someone should be able to prove that though, since otherwise it would be indeed easy for crossdressers with bad intentions to use the women’s bathroom :)

Huge differences between North and South of USA, why?

Culture, economy, anthropology, history, geography...all sorts of reasons.

Are you looking for one single thing you can point to?

I mean, take bathroom bills for example. Bathroom bills were only a discussion topic in the Southern states like North and South Carolina, Missouri, Massachussets. But not in Northern states like New-York for example?

That could be entirely due to media coverage.
I mean for all I know you only read things like washington times, wall street journal, and new york times, and news channels that are recorded in new york and los angeles.

There "could" be a bias of more "liberal" media ideologies wanting to paint the "south" in a certain light, so they focus on stories that promote that narrative.

Where maybe there were "bathroom bills" in many "northern" states, but the "media" only really focused on those in certain "southern" states that have certain connotations associated with those states, to promote a separate narrative.

Also...when did Massachusetts become a "southern state?"
It's east of New York...

How come that there is such a huge discrepancy between the North and the South regarding way of life, way of thinking,... ?

Culture, economy, anthropology, history, geography...all sorts of reasons.
Might as well ask "how come that there is such a huge discrepancy between North China and Southern Russia regarding way of life, way of thinking,.... ?" or between Ireland and England and Scottland and France.

Each state is more like an individual country with a lot of legal and cultural reciprocity for the sake of economic collusion.
The U.S. wasn't founded by one small english colony that simply expanded.
There are all sorts of different cultures, families, races, creeds, etc. from many different countries, coming for all sorts of reasons, that set up territories, colonies, homesteads, towns, etc.

Does the fact that there is such a huge discrepancy between North and South, influence people in their decisions about where they want to live?

I don't know. Maybe.
Could be why most people are moving west, to get away from the northeast and south.
I think humidity, winter, and taxes influences the decision more.

Also, is it unheard of for someone to be democrat but befriend someone who is republican, in the USA?

No, but I think it would kinda depend on their level of belief or zealotry.

Is the North of the US safer to live in for LGBT people than the South of the US?

I think it depends on more detail.
I mean it's going to be less safe to move to Detroit or Chicago, more in the north, than any southern city, no matter what you are.

I think it's going to be more safe for a conservative, private, LGBT person to move anywhere, than a flamboyantly, in your face, make waves to change the local culture and status quo right now LGBT person.

I think it's more safe for LGBT to live in a larger city, especially where there are known LGBT communities, than in small rural towns with small populations, and they're the only LGBT in 100 miles.

Can someone be a conservative living in the South and still support gay people, lesbian people and trans people or are those two mutually exclusive?

Sure.

Just depends on a lot of things.
People aren't polarized solely by conservative/liberal with mandatory anti-whatever behavioral dictates enforced by the local militia.
There are different degrees and tolerances and beliefs in there.

Thanks for your detailed answer.

I grew up just south of Boston. My perspectives include the following:

We were close to all sorts of cultural variety so we knew members of all sorts of backgrounds without discriminating...with creative people, comes a straying from the norms. Its inevitable. Openly LGBTQ supportive. So we learn not to care as much.

....large populations make it too difficult to keep it all strait or to even ask before befriending them, what religious affiliation, or economic status, or connections to european, african, hispanic, asian brotherhoods they have in their heritage. So we learn not to care as much.

Seriously, sometimes you cant tell if they are mixed race.

Even with all that, ....prejudice comes about. The KKK my have a stronghold/or more history in the South, but there was great resistance in the North to 'bussing'. ...or civil rights in general.

None of us are clean.

that is a rather famous photograph I remember from my childhood.

Thanks for this amazing answer.

I'm from the south. I had a man who tried to kidnap my daughter from a Wal-Mart. I see the danger of letting males in the women's bathrooms.
We have plenty of gays here. I can tell you we are a lot friendlier in the south.

A trans woman is not a male though.
Once we physically transitioned, the penis doesn’t even function anymore.
Not every trans woman is attracted to women. I for example could never be attracted to a woman. This is common for the younger generations of trans women. Older transitioners are usually attracted to women, true.
But heterosexual trans women form no danger for heterosexual cis women.

Gay people are indeed better accepted in the South than trans people. I have a gay friend who lives near Kissimee in Florida. He works at Disney, Orlando and his other gay colleagues get treated well too. They have a young trans woman working there, however she is less well accepted.

I know a post-op trans woman in her mid 30s, who had her bottom surgery in 2003, at age 19.
She lives in massachussets, she is married to a heterosexual male. She looks every bit of a woman. She is conservative and called Obama a b*tt pirate. She is a Trump supporter. She married in a clerical ceremony. In the South.
Would the people in the South accept someone like her if they knew of her history?
Or do you think she would also be discriminated against if her history got out?
Is it common for churches in the South to marry trans women with straight cis men?

Thanks.
Elissa

I've lived in both regions on the eastern side of the Mississippi River.
I grew up in NW Pennsylvania and have lived and worked in NY, VA, & OH.
I've also lived later in MO & MS.
I tried to move back to PA and found the attitudes incompatible with my preferences.

I find the people in the NE Colonial states as 'stuffy'. I refer to those as 'police states'. Not only do I find Southerners friendlier, they seem to be 'more alive'.
The NE states also seem to be stagnated. There isn't as many construction projects happening (by comparison), things stay the same longer and people seem to want it that way. In the South, something is always being built, there are a lot of new things happening at any given time. There are more festivals and public events year round.

I think this has to do with the fact that in the NE the winter season prevents activities. They have only 3 or 4 months of the year to finish off projects, have festivities, be sociable in open public venues. Much of the winter months are spent indoors.

In the South, the weather allows for more activities year round. People can easily go out and about and socialize. Construction projects happen year round. With more people socializing in public it opens more people to being sociable and friendly to others.

People stuck in their houses (inside) the majority of the year, year after year, causes them to be less open to new ideals. They get set in their isolation. They tend to trust within and are very opinionated.

People that are openly sociable the majority of the year, year after year, causes them to value others. They learn to trust outsiders and a more open to people's uniqueness. They are more 'approachable because they are friendlier.

Having lived for duration in both regions, I prefer the South because I feel 'more alive'. I tried going back to the North, I found it unbearable.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a respectful, well underbuilt comment.
This was the type of posts I was looking for.

Regards.
Elissa.

I don't know that a choice if not the right one as society dictate is bigotry. Some men are attracted to bi women . What do you call them ? Sleazy? Hehe

Well, some people have called me a bigot for not wanting to date bi men.

I’m a transitioned trans woman in her early 20s, out and proud since 2015. Started hormone therapy in January 2016, am having sex reassignment surgery ( vaginoplasty ) next year.
I’m heterosexual so kind of a rarity under trans women where most are attracted to women and transition at later ages. I’m an early onset trans woman. Knew since early childhood, suffered extreme gender dysphoria till 18 y.o, when I decided to transition.

Since you are a crossdresser and different from a trans person, I cannot give you a lot of advice.
However, if you want to find someone who accepts you for presenting as a woman from time to time, I would advise you to make sure you look as good as you can when dressed as a woman.
Hygiene and efforts are more important than looks.

Make sure you shave all your body and facial hair off and buy a hair-laser-at-home device. Silk’n glide is a very good device and not too expensive ( 200$ ) from Philips.

Being hairless is one of the most important things, if not the most important.

Use warm water to open the pores and enough shaving foam, when shaving. Shave two times one after another, for a close shave.
After shaving, make sure you exfoliate and moisturize.

Another important thing is contouring and highlighting.
You can look up YouTube videos. Tutorials enough.
Arabia Felix is a drag queen who has great tutorials on contour and highlight.
Contour and highlight is a great make-up trick to feminize the face and highlight the eyes and cheekbones.

Another thing that could help you be taken more seriously as a woman and quite important is voice training.
You can look up tutorials to train your voice to sound more feminine.

To hide the Adams apple you could wear a necklace and a scarf.

Paint your nails and maintain them hygienically. That’s important.

Make sure you learn how to jiggle with your hips when walking. Walking graciously is important. Don’t walk with the legs wide apart.

Learn to dress like a woman of your age would, not as a teenage girl.
Don’t dress vulgar, dress classy.

Over the knee boots look cheap on older women, go for classy pumps instead.

A small enveloppe shaped handbag is very classy.

If you have a redecing hairline, try to look for a high quality wig, a human hair one prferably but a good synthetic will do as well.

Try to smile often, a smile is very feminine. Show emotions. Don’t have that “ resting ***** face “ that is so typically male.

Someone out there will accept you for you.
Put in the time and efforts.

Many guys are willing to have a short adventure with a crossdresser. If he is bi maybe even a relationship.

Since you are not a woman, straight guys and lesbian women are out of the question.
Bi guys and bi women and maybe some accepting straight women, are a possibility.

As a straight woman, I would personally not date a crossdresser, but I know women who would.

A friend in Kissimee Florida offered to pay for my plane ticket and to let me sleep two weeks in his house.
Unfortunately my parents would never let me go and would look down on me because they would find it weird if I went sleeping in the house of a 65 year old man that I met online 6 years ago.
He came to Belgium last year and I saw him for the first time in real life 3 years ago. He is a normal, well mannered older man.
Sadly, my parents would never let me travel to him because they are the kind of people who believe that there must be something more behind it if a 65 year old man invites a 22 year old to his house.
