Huh? What happened to the porn discussion. Sarah Palin? Does anyone want to tell what porn really does for them. I know for some folks, myself included, it is quite stimulating. For normal folks it could be used as a sexual "starter" so to speak. I can't speak for the freaks and mentally ill, but should we regulate all of society so we don't get some idiot or nut going off in the wrong direction (so to speak)?  Darn, I knew someone would jump on the Palin reference. I just used her as an example of how one person can see something as one thing and another can see it as something else. Same goes for porn. Now that that's out of the way, my answer to your questions would be, it's stimulating, and, no.

I am just saying what is around us and what we see and hear either has an influence on the population as a whole or it does not. which is it? I'm not trying to start a Sarah Palin fight, but I'm going to use her as an example. When she spoke, some people thought she sounded intelligent and some people thought she sounded stupid. It was an individual thing, not all or nothing. I'm just saying that we, as individuals need to start taking personal responsibility for our actions and stop blaming bad behavior on these generalized issues.

My two cents here, but... Porn has been around since the beginning of time! The problem with society today is that we use this and other things as excuses for bad behavior. Bottom line is, if you don't like, don't watch it. If it doesn't float your boat, don't watch it! But, if you know right from wrong, you can watch it without raping or molesting somebody!  Do you work for Hollywood? It does sound like exactly what Hollywood was saying when it was taken up with congress about sex seens on primetime TV. Of course Hollywood won out and the reason was what you are saying. they also said that behavior kids see on TV even in cartoons they know the difference between reality and make believe. Now this could not of possibly have anything to do with a kid who finds his dads gun and shoots his friend. Get up silly they do on TV. No Porn could not influence society. Of cource not that is why all of you want the Bible read everyday in school because you are sure it will not influence them. I am glad you will support Bible clubs and the reciting of the 10 commandments and the pledge of allegience because you are absolutely sure it will not influence anyone. I am right? Right Ok, first of all I live in Oklahoma, the center of the Bible belt. There was no Hollywood at the beginning of time. Using Hollywood to blame for the downfall of society is yet another excuse. And, for your example of a kid finding a gun and shooting his friend, my dad was a policeman and a hunter and there was guns in our home at all time. We were taught from birth to respect and NOT TOUCH the guns. Blame the parents for not securing the gun! Blame the shooter for pointing the weapon! Stop making generalized excuses for bad behavior! Personal responsibility needs to come back in style! As for the rest of your statement, I don't have a clue as to what you are talking about!

I actually feel its okay for Dredz to have his personal preference. Arent we all entitled to that? No one needs to feel offended and least of all overweight females. There are plenty of males who find that look very sexy and appealing. Some go out of their way to find voluptuous women. Everyone has something that they are fixated on from a physical standpoint. Some men also like petite women (lucky for me because Im short.)  Everyone is entitled to what they find appealing and thats the spice of life. I think it's fine for him to only want to date skinny women. There are better ways to call attention to your preferences, but I also think he was just trying to get everyone riled up.  I agree! I think he just needs some warmth and shade.   You were right, Lily! |

The non-Christian's favorite Jesus quote "Judge not". That is thrown into the face of any Christian who makes a statement on morality, but for some reason those who are so quick to quote or loath to practice. Ted Haggard might be lying, I don't know. Ted Haggard might be going to hell, I don't know. What I do know is that it is better for me to give him the benefit of the doubt on this matter, since it isn't important to me, rather than to judge him harshly. If you are going to his church, then it's in your spiritual best interest to decide if you believe him or not. If you aren't a member of his church, then the best thing you can do is put it out of your mind. Thanks for that advise. However, I must point out that fear of judgement is one of the things that keeps us from doing many things that we should not do. And, if this kind of behavior is ignored, it will likely repeat itself, if not with him, then someone else. We can learn from this that no one should have that kind of power over others and that no one is above reproach. I don't think he has a church anymore. If I'm not mistaken, he was just a visiting preacher and the media was alerted (go figure). My personal problem with him is not that he likes sex with men, but the deception he has perpetrated and the fact that he has still not accepted responsibility. It's also very scary that there are people who don't see that. But, rest your mind that I for one will not loose one minutes sleep over this man.
