well, we were having dinner at his parents. we had known each other for years but had been dating about 9 months. his mother out of the blue during dinner asked him "when are you getting married?" he looked at me (as my eyes fell out and hit my plate) and said, oct 20th sounds like a good date. i just froze and said nothing. the next day his mother showed up at my house with a planner, ready to start planning....the rest of the story is a whole other thread lmao

...or engaged, share how you/he/she proposed. flowerforyou

After we had been living together for about 4 months, she just started saying "I think we should get married!" 9000 times a day. I thought, "Well, I sure don't want to listen to this for the rest of my life."

The way I proposed when I got married was my ex loved Dominos pizza and I had a friend who worked at one. My ex would always call for a pizza at least once a week. I told my friend that when she called for her usual large pepperoni pizza for her and her son, to make it for her with this message on it spelled out with pepperoni - Will you marry me? It worked! She called me up and said yes!

Well, this is how it went for me.

Goof: "Hey. So, you wanna?"

Girl: "Ummmm....do I wanna what? Do it?

Goof: "Ummm...yeah....ya know...do it for like all eternity."

Girl: "Ummmm.....sure....okay....think we can last that long?"

Goof: "Dunno......but....why not try. Ya just never know."

Girl: "Okay. If you think so. I mean....I think so."

Goof: "Cool. Guess we can tell our folks then."

Girl: "Do we have to? I mean....I thought that we could keep it on the down low for a bit."

Goof: "Well, it is a big commitment and all, so we should probably bite the bullet."

Girl: "Yeah. I see what you mean. Okay. Guess we should tell them then."

Goof: "Cool."

Girl: "Cool."

I'll share. Got one on a ski lift, and spent the rest of the day looking for a diamond in the snow. Tip: Don't handle precious jewels in ski gloves. And one in a botanical gardens.

I proposed to my now ex on her birthday at a hospital dance where she worked. We had been going out for 2 yearsat that point.
I was the DJ that night and asked her to marry me over a favourite song of hers at the time. 'With or without you' by U2.

If I'd known what would happen later on, I'd have played 'If you leave me now' by Chicago. ohwell

well - i've been proposed to 3 times...and have proposed twice...married once.

when i proposed to my wife we went to a romantic english garden for lunch at an incredible cafe. we spoke of our love for each other and how we shared a truly great love and history together as we recollected so many happy times...

as we sipped coffee and had dessert at this favorite place of ours i asked if she was still ready to marry me again and she said yes with no reservations...we had a long walk in the park hand in hand and later went together to pick out a ring.

she did ask if i would make all the wedding arrangements and i agreed - and several people have told me that it was one of the nicest weddings they ever attended.

My ex and I were living together and the church I went to told us that we needed to get married. They payed for it all so we thought might as well as we were already living together and had been together on and off for almost10 years. A year and a half later I was a single mother of a 6 month old. Felt like I was forced into it. I was almost 2.5 hours late for my wedding and cried all the way down the aisle. Beginning to think it was not tears of happiness. That church is the main reason I am now an atheist. It also leads to, I never want to get married again!
