Ok so I don't have any kids but I have my 3yr old nephew home with me in the daytime.
Now we've been trying to potty train him but he's proving extremely stubborn.
After just having a conversation with him that I couldn't know if he was pooping because I can't hear it (his words exactly) I realize he's playing me like a fool.
How do I get him to go on the potty! He refuses outright everytime it's brought up.

Help me sick

it's mostly repetition and a sense of being a big boy that will help him train faster.

good luck flowerforyou

when i was potty training my son, i would let him run around naked. but i know that this doesn't work for everyone.

i was kind of lucky b/c my son decided at about 2 that he was going to go on the potty.

My Son turned 3 this past January. He won't tell me when he needs to potty. I have to take him 10 or more times a day and he absolutely refuses to poop on the potty. Good luck!

I have 3 sons - all became exhibitionists once they learned there was freedom in not wearing a diaper. The bushes in the yard were their favorite 'targets'.

I've promised this kid everything imaginable. A puppy, ever Transformer you can think of, a bike, taking him to a motocross race, my good kidney.
He just won't. He's stubborn. Have no idea idea where he gets it laugh

This one works, did it with my second son. Another one that worked for me was every time they went on the potty, they got a sugarless lollypop. It was a reward system, I know, but at least they didn't have rotten teeth, and it worked! Keep trying, he'll get it one of these days, just be persistant and patient! Make a game of it.

I hate to tell you, but there really isn't anything you are doing wrong. It's just something that finally happens. You can try every suggestion imaginable, but really persistence and trial and error are the key elements.

When my daughter was potty training, I tried everything from the reward system, to taking her to the bathroom with me every time I went (my private time went out the window). I even went as far as bringing in her portable DVD player and letting her watch a video while sitting on the toilet. Then one day, without me even realizing it, she was potty trained. I have no clue which trick worked or if it was anything I was doing. It just happened.

Now on the other hand, I have a nephew who just turned 5 and he still poops in his pants. He's in school and has had a few accidents there as well. But the reason he does this is because he gets into playing so much that he doesn't want to stop because he thinks he's going to miss out on something. The odd thing is when he does this, he gets grounded from playing the rest of the day, and you would think this would start sinking in but it he still does it. I don't know what his parents are going to do about that.

Don't force it, and don't get upset over it. I know, easier said than done, lol been there done it, got the face used as target practice to show it

But seiosuly, don't push it or make it into a big deal. When he is ready to go to the potty, he will. Unless he is like 5 or 6 years old, i would not be concerned. If he IS five or six, I would be talking with his doctor (or in this case his mother to have HER talk to the doctor), in case there isso em medical reason for it.

But or now, just sit back and relax. Let him get comfortable with it on his own. Remind him regualrly, but otherwise don't push it or become upset.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!
