Was about to download service pack one for Vista, but say that it will take about 3.5 hours. Too long for my liking. So i thought before I wasted my time in waiting for it, I would come here and ask if it makes Vista any better. Does anybody have any experience?

I don't think there's anything that could help Vista. It sucks, if you ask me.

Not a big fan of it myself. I am hoping that the service pack will make it better. Something tells me that is won't though.

Start it before you go to bed. I understand it contains many improvements. After you install it, tell us how it is.

I use Vista at work and have never had any problems with it.

You have never had to put a program in the computer have you? Or even download something that says it is Microsoft certified just to NOT have it work, or try plugging your printer in it that says it is compatible with Vista, just to find Vista can not read it. Or even look at the fact that it takes at least 2 gigs of RAM for Vista to run somewhat smoothly.

Probably not.

Sorry I probably sounded harsh, but it was my hate for this darn OS coming out.

Why should it take 3 and half hours to download? I have Vista too, and am also curious about this Service pack. I wasn't aware that there was one.

Probably using a DialUp connection and not cable.

My work has so many problems with Vista that they reinstalled XP.
My coworker uses Vista at home and he had no problems with the upgrade, but it really didn't improve anything that he noticed.

3 hrs is likely an overstatement, or you're looking at the dl with all the language packs. . .
Vista does need (IMHO)at least 1.5, preferably a min of 2G of memory. If your system does AND your Internet speed is decent - 1.5 or better - it shouldn't take 3 hrs.
