When you first start dating, how many emails/phone calls/texts are too many for one day?

I usually call once and leave a voice mail. From there it's on her to call me back. If a few days pass and we're already dating (not the phase where I just got the number and am trying to get a first date), then I'll try calling again.

No call back after that and I'm gone for good. With technology, caller ID, voice mail, etc...the excuse "I never got your call" is totally bogus now.

I agree

I am in a new relationship myself, we text each other in the morning and then every night. Then we are on the phone talking atleast a few hours 3 times a week. He works third shift so its a little bit harder for us, I never know when he is up so I let him get ahold of me.
I think you can tell if you are bothering someone, just go with your feelings.
Good luck flowerforyou

From a guy's perspective, is there 'meaning' to the number of times you email a girl in a day (if it's an online connection)? Is it reflective of your feelings towards her or your intention to move things forward ... or are you just bored and passing time?

could be both. Depends on the person. How "Leachy" typed the person is. If a person is "mushy"......they tend to count e-mails as a way to showing affection....others could give a rats ass about it. LOL . Just depends I suppose on the type of person you are trying to hook with.

Thanks for your input ... I think you're right - there's a difference between the 'hey, what are ya doin' emails that some people send 25x a day and the ones that actually attempt to engage you in conversation and learn more about you. I have such a love/hate relationship with technology right now explode ... I get sick of 'typing' with someone instead of just 'talking' with them and trying to decipher tone and intonation of words on a computer screen ... can't beat good ol' body language for that kind of stuff!

He and I are texting because we are both at work. We also talk quite a bit, so it is both.

this is so very true. It is hard to find that on line and with so many BS e-mails you kinda begin to wonder if the others just got lost in the mail.ohwell grumble

While I'm picking your brain, IamMewhoRU ... how long do online conversations go on (say daily) before you would expect to take it to a new level (ie phone call or arranging to meet up). This is all soooo very new to me, that I'm not sure I understand the stages, or expectations/insinuations of each interaction. Help!? embarassed

bigsmile s'ok really, well.....I would have to say most people end up gradually staying on longer and longer until bbigsmile oth people feel so much anxiousness and other feelings that looking forward to a good chat on line isn't cutting it. A voice lends a lot to a person.Specially when you are getting to know them from online. Puts personality to the face. The talking on the phone step should come prolly a few weeks into solid chatting. Be sure first that the guy is worth it and trusting enough to give your # out to. And that you can trust him with the number...no pranking, ex girls getting it...etc. I hope once again that this will work darling and hope things go well.

When you have to lie to them and tell them your phone is broke...then it's too much...

Or when you stay off line at certain times so when you avoid their calls they don't just email you anyways.
