My best friend who is one year older than me 24 had been seeing a guy who told her he was 34. Which was only 10 years and she really really really digs him (talk of marriage and babies) only one problem, he lied, about his age -- hes 38 will be 39 in July. Should she be mad? Would you?

She's back and forth on this, I mean he is great, they like the same things, he cooks, he listens to her. But he lied about this one detail, and now she is scared he will lie again. He has been there through a lot of things and her family likes him, but they think, like she did he is 34.

She says they talk about everything. He understood when she had to visit graves this weekend and offered to go with her. He held her when she cried over her friend's death. He's been great, and they have been together for 4 months, and told her on the third date about the age thing. She just now told me.

Yes I would be angry......why lie about your age??? What was his reasoning for this???

From what I gathered, he was going to tell her his reall age but the younger age just popped out. Then she changed subjects, and he didn't want to lose her so he didn't correct his mistake, then it was omg I am falling for this girl so he came clean. He kept saying He didn't think he'd fall in love, but he did and the secret was killing him.

I think she should lie and tell him she's pregnant!!! haha that will be a kick in the head!!

Initially, a person who tries hard to practice honesty would be upset with someone telling them a lie, but the fact that he came clean shows that maybe he had begun to have feelings for her and decided before things went any further to come clean about his age..

Sometimes people do things in life and they have their reason, I personally don't like untruths but people do practice telling them. Question is, is she willing to overlook and continue moving forward and place this behind her,or is it too much to deal with.

U have stated that they are great together, sometimes we have to decide if not telling his correct age in the beginning is worth letting what has developed between them go.
