The presence of God? Since when did you become a Christian? OMG...are you kidding? All you do is bash Christians! Good cover up for the forum though....get real laugh

I'm not sure who wrote this to me, but let me just say this. Christians don't own God. What do you take me for... an atheist?

I think being an athiest is a curse ... I mean, dont have to pray to or talk to your imaginary friend.
You have Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays free for licentious behaviour.
Guilt without sex is incredibly enlightening
... and I dont get Jehovah's witnesses knocking on my door

... and Im in the middle of the religious base for three of the world's largest cults.

Im also living in a town where there are three mosques ...

If god/allah/jehovah aint gonna get me here in the Sinai, then Im doomed to a life of sex, drugs and rock n roll, because Im not gonna be got anywhere else!!!

I saw your bio. You don't have alot of sex. Gheez. Never married, no chidren, a few extra pounds. You and JB should hook up and praise the carpet or something.

Praise the carpet? laugh laugh laugh

You wouldn't say that if you saw my carpet. huh

Why do so many people feel a need to control the world? When people talk one thing leads to another, that's the nature of humanity.

Ok, let's go back to your OP and address your questions then.

why can't men respect a woman's choice to remain abstinent until marriage?

That's a blanket statement and the answer is that all men aren't the same. There are plenty of men who are more than willing to be abstinent until marriage. Maybe you're just refusing to date them because you don't find them attractive? Maybe the men who are like that appear to be highly undesirable to you?

Having intercourse was never a priority on my list. So from my point of view your question doesn't even apply to me. Especially when I was your age! At 59 I'm not about to marry a woman I haven't yet been intimate with (although even that doesn't need to include intercourse). But when I was 20 I was still naïve enough that I would have married a woman that I hadn't yet had intercourse with.

But I wonder what you would think about sleeping with a man and not having intercourse? Would that still be considered to be abstinence?

What exactly are you calling abstinence? Just no intercourse, or no physical intimacy at all? What about necking? Kissing? Petting? Where's the line before abstinence has been breeched? Is the line just intercourse itself?

Would mutual masturbation be considered a breech of abstinence?

Is it a sin to have an orgasm? Or induce an orgasm in your partner?

Or is only intercourse a sin?

You'd have to define precisely what is a sin and what isn't.

What precisely do you mean when you say, "abstinence?"

If you want to discuss this topic you need to be willing to actually discuss it which includes defining precisely what you mean by asbstinence.

i have encountered several who feel that even though i was married once, that i can continue to have sex. i feel like god commanded me to remain pure until i enter a union in holy matrimony. therefore, i choose not to until i remarry if that is god's will.

Again, define sex. Is kissing sex? Is petting sex? Where's the line?

anyone else have similar problems?

As I've already stated, it's been my personal experience that women are more anxious to have sex with me than I am with them. That's been my personal experience. Especially in a temporal sense. In other words, women seem to be more interested in having sex both, sooner, and quicker (faster about the whole act of sex), than what I would choose to do.

Actually I'm not so worried about the "sooner" part, but I would like to find a woman who enjoy slow drawn-out intimacy. A woman who is into tantric sex might be nice. bigsmile

So what does abstinence even mean to you. Exactly what are you asking men to abstain from?

Is it just intercourse? Or are you expecting them to abstain from any form of intimacy at all?

I don't think I'd be very interest in dating a woman who wasn't even interested in kissing, and cuddling. Much less be thinking about marrying her.

Some people, men or women, like to control things and even relationships. In a relationship it can spell disaster. Nobody likes to be controlled and eventually the one being controlled will break free of the controller.

Come to my thread and you can discuss anything you want on or off topic.
