I am curious. Has anyone here had any contact with women from China looking for a relationship?

I received a message from one on this site yesterday. I messaged her back and we talked quiite a bit via "chat". How does one know if they are scammers? She's very close in age to me and seemingly very sincere. Still, I'm a bit suspicious about a woman from overseas seeking relationship with a man in the United States.

"Please help me get to U.S." would be a good sign.

Don't do it. Even if it's for real. A friend from on here found a lady from there, and she's real, but he's gone to China on his tab, has met the family, done a Chinese wedding with her, but it'll be a couple of years and about $20,000 total to get her here!!! ohwell

She hasn't requested any help in getting to the U.S. She is an English teacher in a middle school there. She really does appear to be looking for a relationship. I just wish I knew of a good way to verify that she's really of good intentions.

Oh my gosh, that's one expensive undertaking! Whew! The question I have; is your friend from here that did it happy with what he did?

So you want a relationship with a woman you'll never or hardly ever see? See the big picture before you get into intentions. What do YOU want, what can you live with. Be her friend, surely. But tread in the shallow end with floaties, a raft, goggles, and full scuba gear.

You can google online dating scams. Alot of the scammers take photos from modeling agencies and portray as their own. Try www.focushawaii.com They have pictures of models that have been used by scammers. Hope it helps.

She's very near 50 years old and she wants to do a web cam meeting, so that rules out any fake pictures.

1) She asks for money
2) She gives a sob story
3) She tells you she wants to move to America, but can't for some reason.

The process for getting a foreign bride into the US has been vastly simplified and streamlined. You just make to make sure that if you decide to get serious that you start the process before you marry her. If you marry her first, you will have to use the old method which takes a long time and lots of money. You will need a lawyer either way, but if you get her a marriage visa, it will go much more quickly.

He's happy with her as a person, but they are both very frustrated with how long this is all taking, all the paperwork and government stuff involved. I mean, they can't touch each other or look into each others' eyes or share their day, etc.
