No but have you tried googling it? Doesn't sound like a good thing. Do you wear a mask at all?

What kind of precautions are taken? I don't know off hand, but sounds dangerous to the lungs.

masks are available but you know the whole guy thing . . if it aint bad enough to water your eyes or gag ya I tend to not wear one . . they are hot and sweaty and make it impossible to talk . . plus hard on the lungs if you were it an entire shift lol

If it is possible wear a surgical face mask to work.. that should drastically cut down the amount entering your lungs.. the stuff is extremely toxic.. as you already know

you could develop asthma or an allergen to it
at worst - nose throat lung cancer can occur

I am sure your work takes precautions and follows a strict protocol though

There are LOTS of terrible effects... do a google search of:

Formaldehyde long term effects

... and read all the different things that are SOOOO not worth getting!!

I know one thing for sure, if it is something that can cause injury up the road, you will want to know that they have liability insurance for it specifically in case of a future situation.

Well, if you make a career out of it, and donate your body to science when you die, then you can go straight to the science lab, buddy... bigsmile

Holy Crap!
It is an OSHA requirement that any employee routinely exposed to formaldehyde (or formalin) be monitored on a regular basis.

Are you ever asked to wear a test badge?

What kind of work do you do?

Just think of all the bills you'll have if and when you get sick. Think about this decision thoroughly, and in the meantime, USE YOUR MASKS!!

I wear masks and body suits on my job and prefer that discomfort to the health affects.. If ya gotta do the job, take care of your body. None of the 'men' there really care if you die a few years later.. they wont remember and say, "oh but he was so cool."
