Now in the defense of men, waiting until the ring is on the finger is also a little stupid. What if you boy is a little more freaky than you'd like? What if he isn't willing to be freaky enough? I mean if your boy comes into the honeymoon sweet with a ball gag, saddle, bottle of crisco oil, a battery and jumper cables, don't you think this is something you might have wanted to know before it was final? Sexual compatability is also part of being married. A man is not going to want to hear you say "I'm not doing that!" after he signs the liscence. At least not for the first few years, I think we expect that after year fifteen of marriage. Look, I'm not telling you to give it up. Hell, I'm a man, and I'm not easy to get into bed, it takes more than just a willing participant for me. Oh please, that is a gross generalization that a man won't wait. We aren't all dogs. I'm fairly certain that I've blown a couple of relationships by taking it too slow myself. Any man that is in the relationship for the right reasons will take whatever schedule you lay out for him. Now I'm not saying he isn't going to try to get you to speed things up a bit, we are men. But if you say "no" he'll pout and probably try a different approach which you might have to say "no" to again. I think you are right, Mag. I am a sexual person and if I met a guy who wanted to wait.... oh wait I did. He said he did not even consider being intimate for 2-3 months. He did however, want to do a whole lot of open mouthed kissing with no tongue. Why?
 His reasoning for no intimacy was out of respect for the woman. It was a "my way or the highway" thing. So I imagine he is driving 55 somewhere. He'd never speed. Well, you are in your twenties. When you hit 30 or 32 and you still feel that way, get back to me. Your hormones will be raging out of control and you'll dream about sex.

good advise all the way around. Thank you so much. I'm not trying to be judgemental (sp?). And honestly, I'd be really happy for a date. So I guess I'll just wait and see what happens. Who knows I could meet mister right, and totally change my mind.

For ME.....I'm willing to wait until the "time is right" for both of us. But being forced by one party to "wait until marriage", could possibly lead to getting into a position hard to get out of if the compatability is not there AFTER the fact! And by the same token as another poster....she said if he can't wait then he doesn't deserve you. Some could say....if she doesn't WANT to then she doesn't deserve ME!! Works both ways. |
