I think the Romans shredded his cadaver or else they just forgot where they had set his tomb.

I dont believe its possible to reanimate dead flesh to a state of living. Thats awful Pagan of you Christian folks?

huh

Besides, if you dont live to see this "second coming" and the big battle with Satan and all the "bad people" swept away, what will you do with your life in the mean time? Isnt life about living? Here on Mother Earth?

I was reminded of something I heard a long time ago. It was actually said by a comedian, don't remember his name, but it came back to memory. "What if all those people you see on the streets talking to themselves are just reluctant prophets?" It got me thinking, and as this place is filled with people who have seemed to studied a lot of religion and even those of different types, I wanted to see some opinions along these lines.

Why aren't there any more prophets?

Do we just not listen anymore, or did God stop speaking directly to us?

Can't wait to see what you all think.

If someone starts spouting forth Love Peace and Brown Rice....

They would be medicated, incarcerated and ostracised.

Prophets are everywhere... they just work undercover... glasses

Yea I cant see a single reason why the general public would think those folks are crazy, I mean it cant be that 3000 years of religions, and "prophets" have done NOTHING to move our knowledge of the universe forward . . . .

If a single usefull things was produced which changed life as we know it even half as much as the internet has, that would be significant . . . sadly I cant think of a single thing that has been proselytized that has done anything but destroy stuff . . . . (being that humans are destructive I cant even imagine how anyone could guess we would be this way . . .)

Sarcasm off.

Anyway I agree, straight jackets for all prophets!

Well I'd argue that the establishment of religion has at least moved the science of debate forward by leaps and bounds.

If it wasn't for religous dogma, certain scientific knowledge wouldn't be the same. I mean Copernicus couldn't make the shifts of the stars work out with the religous "earth center" view, so he actually figured out we humans aren't the center of the universe. Of course he was the only human to figure that out.

Look at what religion has done for the advancement in military science. The torture devices built during the Inquisition alone should warrent it's meantion.

Hate to disagree with you on this one, but I think credit should be given where credit is do.

Yeah who would have known that most Witches wont float with rocks tied around their necks once tossed into reservoirs. But of course the ones that did float were in league with Satan. You just didnt know who was effectively consorting with the devil and who wasnt. So the only way to solve this dilemma was to throw all females into the reservoir with rocks tied around their necks.

Who can blame the religious right for being thorough in the care of god's work?

maybe if we were to just stone everyone who is able to maintain good health in todays world of pollution and other crap, we would do away with all people who have an edge on others. this would equalize the playing field!

Genesis 4

"And the Lord had respect unto Abel." 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

What the hell? huh

God likes Abel's dead animals better than Cain's fruits and vegetables. Why? Well, no reason is given, but it probably has something to do with the amount of pain, blood, and gore involved.
