No, not "every conversation needs to be thought-provoking", but there certainly is a lack of it around here.

What one considers "inane drivel" may not be "inane drivel" to others. Some of the threads have gone on,IMO, because the people who posted in them showed respect for the other posters whether they agreed or not and most of those that go on and on people aren't rude to each other. I believe there's several "coffee houses" or ie, bad to the bone girls, or few extra lbs, just because there may be actual FUN going on in them, doesn't mean they're simply "inane drivel". But they're not exactly thought-provoking, either. Not all of them have to be! There's plenty of "thought provoking ones in the political or religious forums, maybe some don't want to have to be serious all the time! |

But they're not exactly thought-provoking, either. Are you expecting every post on here to be thought provoking? What's wrong with people just like to chat in their threads? No, of course not. There's nothing wrong with just idle chit-chat. However, there are times when some people feel the need to actually exercise their grey matter a little bit. Is that okay? Sure it's ok, keep starting ones, if one dies, go ahead start another one. There's those who'll post in them! I'm sure you'd have more then one thought provoking idea. |

Without Prejudice Sir, although this is indeed a dating site it is also a community ( in case you hadn't noticed) and although it may be an online community it is never-the-less a community. As with any community there are churches (The Religious Forums) reading ( Poetry Forums) etc,etc. Some of us have been members of this community for a long period of time and have formed friendships just as in real life, there are times when some of us feel the need to "let our hair down." Now, with that said, maybe you could post something of interest to me and I will try my best to help you make it to 50 pages. |

Apparently, there must be some kind of requisite criteria needed to create a thread that will go a full 50 pages (or more). What's the trick?  No, not overly sensitive, just trying to answer your original post, since it seemed to appear you wanted a thread to go the full 50 pages. |

After a long and tiresome day at work with people who back bite for simple things like not enough butter on their crumpets, it's a welcome release for some of us to have a jape with the friends we have made on this site...........They keep me sane believe it or not. |

Oh where is our friend Dan when we need his "inane drivel", which most of the time makes everyone laugh! Overall what does it matter how many pages, who posts where, or whether all are thought provoking. Not everyone has the same interest, nor is every one at the place at the same time.

I mentioned that most, but not all, of the threads I've made have required thought. Some were just "fun", some were quirky, etc. Such as, "What would happen if the whole world farted at once?", or "#1 song on the day you were born", or maybe even, "Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?" Any of those has GOT to be at least as interesting and entertaining as Dr. Pepper or a few extra pounds. |
