I threw at at my mother in law, it was her grandmother's & I would not have felt right keeping it. I hear he gave it to wife # 2 & when she found out I had worn it also, she threw it in the river.laugh So I guess he had to buy at least 1 ring for the next 3 wives....

I still have all mine.
Figured my kids might want something their father gave me. Especially since he passed away.

My daughters get the rings!! I ain't selling those!!! Emerald cut, trillion cut, NO WAY!! They can do with them as they please, make new jewelry out of them, have right hand rings, whatever. The marriage may not have worked out, but the rings represent that they were born of a union and out of love.

laugh laugh laugh laugh Wow, what a tacky man to re-give the ring!! But, it wasn't right to throw it in a river, either. It was an heirloom!!! But, he should have just given it to her as an extra bonus gift, being that it came from a disjoined union.

I kept mine for a few years, somewhat just because I forgot I had it. Came across it one day and realized it was better as cash in my pocket than an unnecessary reminder.

Yes, my daughter will get the first engagement ring...in honor of her creation. She represents what was great from that relationship.

Thank you. Mine may not be as valuable as yours sound, but also you can never put a price tag on sentimental value on things like that. I have no daughters, but my sons can have them if they wish. Their father loved me when he gave me those rings and my sons were born of the same love. No reason to take it out on the rings.
