I hear a lot of woman's thoughts on men living at home with mom/dad.

 What about with us ladies? What do you think of woman living back at home or still at home with parents?

because our generation was raised to see it as a weakness.

it may not really be one.. but thats what was embedded into our lil brains when we were young and itching to get out of the house.

its also a pride issue. we are a prideful people ya know...

thats why.

now ask if its right or wrong.. because those seem like the more important questions to me

It depends on the reason, my parents are still able to take care of them self’s despite the fact that mom is blind and dad was just diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer's, I am the only kid in town so most of there care if needed will fall on me.

I had to move from a town that I liked back to a town where my parents lived to take care of my mom. She also has alzheimers. I didnt live with them but alot of my free time was spent taking her out and making sure she wasnt wandering the streets. I also worked full time and was a single mom.

Living back with the parents to help care for or even if you need a couple of months to get back on your feet are good reason. But to live indefinately I would have to rethink the whole thing.

I'm sort of seeing it as the accepted norm nowadays due to the huge amount of layoffs and foreclosures and not to mention if you are trying to recover from a divorce. I mean, I would never knock a guy or gal for moving back in with their parents because of this. We all gotta have some place to live, right?

I just started dating a girl who had to move back home with her mother. It's not really bad at all. I have my place if we need to get away. If it becomes apparant that she intends on staying there long term, not making an effort to regain her independence... that's a problem.

It is often the case (in my generation) that one or both parents are living with the daughter, and that is not an issue of whose home it is. (Hers, or theirs.) Without the aid of the daughter, the parent often needs nursing care, either in-home or in a facility. That defines whom is living with whom, by cause of need, and by cause of the daughter's moral/spirit/love to be the one to be there for them.

If a serious relationship can develop, then I must absolutely address the likelihood that the daughter and I will be jointly caring for the parent(s). That is the crucial issue, IMO.

I think I'd like to find out the reason why she is living with her folks before I made any decisions.

It's the mid-30's ages guys, who have never lived on their own, who have moved into mom's basement from their former bedroom, who are too attached to the apron strings still, and who have never learned to support themselves that we have a problem with.

People who move back home to get on their feet, to help out parents that are having trouble, who at least know how to live on their own and take care of themselves are fine.

Everyone has some trouble at some point. Everyone needs a little help at some point. It all depends on the situation.

That's it. I went out with a bad news mamma's boy. Should have known better. Ugh.
