| Topic: Ok...so how do YOU meet new friends? | |

I am 55 and have lived in Tampa for 1 1/2 years currently and also 4 years at another time. I find it the hardest town to make friends in, much less find a date! I try to be friendly to folks, but I am not a party girl. I like my parties simple and at home or out somewhere simple with a few friends. I don't hang out in bars, except to watch my Giants. I work in an elementary school and talk to children all day. I am in a new church where it will take time to build relationships. The people in my apartment complex pretty much don't cross ethnoc lines except to say hi....I am fine during the week, but am tired of Saturdays alone. I think I need a life coach! lol! So what kind of things do you guys do to meet friends?

I wish I could give advice about how to meet friends, but I am no good at it either. Hang around in here and keep posting. It is a lot of fun. |

Lived over there for many years myself so I know where you are coming from. St Pete Tampa can be cold but I have run into the same over here on the Space Coast. Just takes a little time for people to warm up to you. I'm a newbie here myself so I will pass on the same advice I got. Just start posting and let people get to know you. There are a lot for good fun loving people on here and they will make you feel welcome. Don't be shy, just go for it!

Thanks all for your encouragement! So regarding the possible party tonight...can we talk football and chat at the same time? :o) I am a rabid NY Giants fan so of course curious about the rest of the playoffs! I am also teacher who is dreading the return to reality Monday! Also..pray for me at 12:30 as I am going to a new hairdresser...always a frightening experience!! But I need to find someone regular. Have a great Saturday!
