Over time I have noticed that people only want what they cant have, but once you have everything whats next.... and thats why I dont find happyness in phyical objects, but happyness in the essence of life itself.

To be truely happy, I think everyone would have to have everything, not only all the necessities, but equal access to every 'thing' that man or nature creates.

If every human had every 'think' without a price tag, we would be free of prejudice, discrimination, laws, and envy.

With all that gone, we would be free to persue whatever made us feel whole and productive and useful. Isn't that what is meant by "the persuit of happiness?"

Create something. That is the key to happiness.

I find happiness in experiencing. A thing may bring me joy, but not becuase I own it, but becuase I can use it to enhance my experience.

I have recently gone mad, and spent quite a bit of my expendable income buying saxophones. (I now have every standard keyed sax muahahahah :banana: , and much less money grumble )

Not so they can sit on there stands and look pretty, but to play them, to sing with them, to spend time with my friends and together sing a story.

For me all things worth having are attached or should attach to experiences.

Can you ever have everything? I don't think so, there's always something new out there to be chasing after. I think that chasing material things is only to hide an emptiness in your life and soul. When you learn how to fill that, material gain means nothing, really. You learn to differentiate between needs and wants, and the wants are really nothing more than passing thoughts.

Sure, you'll still get your wants but it's not necessary to your life that you do so. flowerforyou

If you have everything then there is nothing left for anyone else to have so I would think you would have to spend all your time defending yourself from all the people with nothing who are upset you have everything.
Maybe you meant if you had "everything you wanted" and not necessarily everything in existence. I can't imagine an intelligent person having everything she wanted. All intelligent people I know always seek more knowledge, no matter how much they currently have.
Knowledge is a thing, right?

You came in the world with yourself. And you leave the same way. Material things are just that. Matter. The light of life lives in you. Making the light grow is creation. And that never ends. It lives on when you are long gone. Creats something. Then you have it all.flowerforyou

realising that you always had it all.... and it didn't come from 'things' or stuff or other people...

what comes next?

Contentment... calmness...sanity.

We just want more.

Many feel that something is coming.
The ranters are ranting,
The runners are running.
Life proceeds at a frantic pace;
The rats are running the final race.

We've stated, debated, anticipated;
We've cussed and discussed
The things we've created.
We are devil, God, saint and whore;
We are all things and we want more.
(Not peace, not heaven, not hell or war.)

We just want more.

Perhaps we come from a distant star.
Perhaps creators are what we are.
Perhaps we should cease to continue debate.
Just roll up our sleeves and begin to create...

More.

I don't know. Whenever I chase happiness, or go for the gold, it always ends in a terrible wreck. I think that most people see it as a this or that situation; either you get rich and have all kinds of luxuries, or you live a poor life that some would call downtrodden. This puts success in a bad light, which isn't good for motivating people who still have many working years left. Wealth can be invested or put into education, for example, and hardly needs to be spent on a gilded lifestyle. Those are the people I look up to with money. They tend to have old shoes and live modestly. They usually have a sense of involvement in the world.

I doubt I'll ever have everything nor do I want to...
