Well i just wanted to say that you americans lucked out with President Obama. i can't personally speak for the entire global community but in my country the tone is one of intense euphoria and celebration over obama's rise. He's a charming guy who is easy to fall in love with, and he's hella intelligent to boot.

We've never shown U.S inaugural celebrations on our local tv stations as far as i know but this year not only is it being advertised to be broadcast live, but there will be a huge free event where it will be shown at our biggest local stadium on the big screen, free for everyone. This last part is unprecedented, even for local elections and inaugurations.

Judging by the internet polls i've seen during the election which were overwhelmingly in favour of obama winning and the enormous worldwide interest on election night etc, i'd say its not that much of a stretch to say that the entire world feels the same way.

Obama for president of the world!! drinks  bigsmile laugh

peace.

Just remember...

He is a politician first...

Give him enough time and eventually people will be screaming for his blood.

he will be the 8th president since the G7 came to be in 1976

1. Ford
2. Carter
3. Reagan
4. Bush sr
5. Clinton
6. Bush jr
7. Cheney - remember bush's colonoscopy - yes Cheney became president for a short period of time
8. Obama??? - the beast???

Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (G7 nations)
Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

so my view of Obama is quite different

I would like to express how much you........
well, let me not go there.

The president cannot solve what it takes Congress to fix. I also suspect serious foul play about his status as a citizen here. If he is President under illegal circumstances well....

There will be hell to pay.

Now to make things also abundantly clear McCain was the more experienced and better of the two choices although he was a republican which is the other political party I despise for a host of reasons.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

He already has back peddled on a but load of his promises. He can't change squat!

I will say this with all due conviction, the only change that will occur is that the bankers will get richer, big business will continue screwing us all, and there will be a status quo on a lot of issues Obama promised to change. Now that the Democratic party has a large majority watch how fast our economy really deteriorates with third world giveaways and social spending and racially biased programs to promote equality!!

So how is life behind rose colored glasses?

I have wavered as to who I wanted to be president these last two years. I got to shake hands with Hillary a mile from my home in a cornfield turned into parking lot. I like her! Sara is someone special, but then she wasn't running for the Presidency. I think Obama is a very bright young man and just may steer our country into a really good place I call Home.

He is drawing interest and the media is only doin what they do best... make money.
This is the most expensive Inagural ever.
Personally, I wouldnt give a Hoot about Pomp and Circumstance. It will be more interesting once he clocks in for his first day and there after.

I have to somewhat agree with you. I'm a little disillusioned by the hoopla! whoa Maybe from a historic aspect, many people should witness it, but I don't see shy so much should be spent on it. sad2

For the first time I am truly proud of my country.

Only the out of touch would have misunderstood that comment. Those who do not understand the hoopla have lead a sheltered life. I know that racism and all ism's will not go away with out the kind of courage and fight it took to bring Obama to the white house.
