Genesis 1:12 "God gave us all the seed bearing plants and herbs to use".

Do you think it should be ok for people to use marijuana at there own discretion? Or is that a typo in the bible?

Would you be including poppy seeds too?

I don't believe that the Bible speaks for God anymore than Greek Mythology did.

And yes, I was a Christian, and I'm thoroughly convinced that the Bible is full of both typos, and outright lies.

I've since learn to "Do as ye will, and harm none, including yourself".

It's up to you to decide when the use of herbs is beneficial and when it is hazardous.

Keep in mind that this particular herb is known to be addictive, at least psychologically addicive if not physiologically addictive.

But then again so is alcohol and even Jesus drank wine.

So what you decide for yourself should depend on how you believe it will affect you personally.

ALL plants and herbs...like the bible says. Morphine is widely accepted throughout the world. It's a very popular pain reliever. Marijuana however, which is much less addictive and harmful, is not.

Well, if you believe in Jesus, it's not what goes into your mouth that counts, but what comes out.

So as long as you don't throw up, it's cool. laugh

Yes, it can be PSYCHOLOGICALLY addictive. But so can religion, excersise, sex, gambling, eating, etc....

Alcohol is PHYSICALLY addictive, and many people die from withdrawl symptoms. Yet, it is legal and accepted. There have been NO cases of anyone overdosing on marijuana. It just isnt possible.

That is more man made actually. It is derived from the poppy seed yes. But it takes someone to make it into opium/heroin. Just like alcohol.

I hear ya abra. I know toxic chemicals are unhealthy, but it's all about personal choice and freedom. I believe in free will and doing whatever you want with your body, as long as you're not harming anyone else.

God clearly approves of Marijuana smoking ...or why else would God appear to Moses as a burning bush

either way you look at it...one of them was up there smoking...

Moses probably only came down from the mountain because those munchies was a monster and it wasn't a damn thing to eat up on that mountain

Moses probably said God why have thou forsaken me you gave Jesus a last supper hey what about me

and God said BEHOLD my breatheren for receive this manna from Heaven and Moses said unto God...hey can you drop down a couple of steaks too ...because I'm hungry enough to eat a golden idol

Go ahead and do what you are going to do, no need to try and justify the behavior or worry about the poor people involved like the natives controlled by lords, or DEA widows and orphans or the marriages falling apart or the guy driving the train needing to take the edge off.

Cannabis and whatever else the guy wants to ingest to make him feel better. I hold to John Bradshaw concept of addictions.

It is absolutely ok for food. The smoking part i have read they did way back when. The only taboo is men in power who refuse to let it be used even though it relieves cancer patients nasea, MS and glacoma to name just a few. They want you to take thier drugs instead of growing something that is natural for you.. It also reduses stress which is our main killer.. Shalom..Miles

This brings up a good point. If the bible clearly appears to condone the use of medicinal herbs, why were so many people tortured and murdered as Witches and practitioners of the craft for simply employing some innocuous medicinal herbal remedies? What caused that shift in the church and the sudden fear and condemnation? huh

I personally used to battle with alcohol, the bible calls us to be sober minded. I personally dont see any problem with using it for medical purposes. Using it recreationally would be sin.

It reads like you are blaming an innocent plant for causing all of this grief. If it was accepted and legal, no one would be effected by it in any negative way. I don't see Holland or Canada, or anywhere else it is legal having these issues.
