when something gets reamed out it's usually a hole that is being forcefully made bigger.
in slang terms it refers to taking it in the backside from someone/something. usually it affects your pocket book and that pain radiates throughout your buttocks.

yeah, but more like taken advantage of. like how the car mechanic usually tries to get a woman to buy stuff she doesn't really need because he doesn't think she knows anything.

It's not the mechanic it's the shop & yes dealers will screw you hard everytime, the dealer told my brother he needed a transmission in his Camry, so he decided he no longer wanted the car & gave it to me 6 years ago, I have not put a transmission in it, the only thing I have done to that car in 6 years that it needed was brake pads & regular maintenance......that being said I'm also a mechanic:smile:

He also gave me his suv that he deemed as no good, I've had that 2 years nowlaugh

I needed my trans tuned up and told the guy that two years ago I drained the fluid and replaced it with Lucas oil. He freaked out, screamed that I completely ruined the trans, what the heck was I thinking. I informed him that the trans barely worked before and that I drove it for two years with no problem, he refused to work on it, so I took it to some one else.

i didn't mean to insult anyone. again, generalizations. there are always exceptions.

The mechanics around here see a female walkin in the shop, u can literally see the $$ signs in their eyes. Boy does it blow their minds when they start talkin engine an I can purty much follow what they're talkin about without that doe in the headlight expression. Blows their minds even more when I insist on gettin whatever old parts they've replaced.shades

I used to use reamers back in machine shop at Vo-tech..
It is generally used to take small amounts of material out of a hole after it has been drilled to meet close tolerances..

More on reamers- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reamer

Post script-
Reamer- I just met her...ahhh! I couldn't resist...

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to getting my car repaired so most of the time I get someone to go with me who knows a little about the situation so I don't get screwed over.

Unfortunately, this last time I went by myself to get my tires rotated and ended up coming out with no tires rotated but with an oil change instead. I a$$umed that with something that simple everything would go okay. I guess that's what I get for a$$uming! slaphead

Once the guy showed me my "rear differential fluid" and said it should be red, and really needed changed.

Another time, after an alignment, they said my car still pulled because of the "road". I asked for my printout, they looked SO guilty.

I have never taken anything of my own to any shop, regardless of what work or how much money I was making at the time. So I've never been reamed.

I did hire a company once to fix my Arkla-Servel Central air unit but after he replaced my compressor, a valve and dumped about 2 pounds of Ammonia into the atmosphere, I just fixed it myself.
