I was told today that I'm not a classy woman. It got me to thinkin. What is a classy woman? What is a classy person? I think everyone has their own definition of a classy person.

I have my own definition of classy. A person who has good moral character. Who doesn't belittle or critize those around to make oneself feel superior. Sumone who doesn't stick their nose up at sumone else because they don't have the nice car, house, clothes, etc.

I know I come off as a smart a$$ redneck. But don't let appearances fool u. I'm highly educated, very intelligent, an can have the manners of a diplomat. I don't feel the need to act like my poop don't stink to make friends or have people accept me. Either you like me for me or you don't. I've lived long enough to realize that I'm not everyone's cup of tea an I'm fine with that. Now if all of this makes me unclassy, then just butter my a$$ an call me a biscuit cause I reckon I don't have the class to be called a dinner roll. shades

Sheesh, why weren't you considered classy? Because you used the dessert fork instead of the dinner fork? (I make that mistake ALL the time....one fork people, lick it clean and move on!)

I think the definition varies from person to person, and social class to social class. Personally, I couldn't care less if someone else thinks I'm classy or not, because chances are good that they're just giving themselves airs :)

I was told that I wasn't classy by a man that I had been talkin to for several months. He finally came to the realization that I have a brain and couldn't be controlled. He didn't like that I wouldn't agree with his "the man is the leader" mentality. I believe that when 2 people are in a relationship it's a partnership not a dictorship. He didn't see things that way. So I reckon for that reason he told me that I wasn't 'classy'. I just find it hilarious. This comin from a man who came from the same kind of poverty stricken background as myself. shades

Last time I was in class was in highschool, have'nt been classified since!

To me... being called classy/or not, is just another form of judgement.
I could give a rats a@@ what someone thinks of me
(or is that bears a@@).
I would rather not be catorgorized in any way, shape, or form.
Like me for whom, and what I am... or keep a walkin' down the road!

What can be more classy then seeing a farming wife in her sunday best, sitting in church, care worn hands folded and praying for her children, who are off to war for our country. Not caring at all that her dress is faded and that she still has on the apron that is dusted with flour from fixing dinner for the family that has a loved one in the hospital.

My bisquits are right next to the dinner rolls on the table. And bisquits go better with good country gravy anyhow.

Redbeans, sounds like that fella is a goof ball. To me class is indescribable. You just recognize it when you see it. Some people you just know their character and integrity are above reproach and there is no quantifiable way to measure. Others just dont seem on the up and up...anyway, thats my take on class.

Apparently the best insult he could come up with? Sounds like his opinion is worth about as much as the dust on your shoes :)

Yeah I reckon it was the best he could do. Oh OUCH!! I'm so hurt an grief stricken I think I'll hide away under the covers! NOT!! I'm not gonna let his opinion or statement hurt me. I know who I am as a person. He lost out on a good thing.

Curiuosity got the better of me an I just wanted to see what others thought 'classy' was. shades

Honestly, that guy only need look in his own mirror to see no class. He doesn't get what he wants so he resorts to verbal abuse/insults? Better to find out sooner, rather than later, that he isn't relationship material. Someone who will use verbal abuse early on doesn't let up as they get more involved. Instead, the insults get worse.

Lol, you people are hilarious, and right on the money. A lot of people are so wrapped up with outward appearances that they don't bother getting to know the person.

My grandma was a very classy lady, she rarely left the house without her hair and make-up done and she made darn sure I knew which fork to use, but that's not what made her classy. She was always helping others and even in her 60s was driving "seniors" around and doing various other volunteer work.

I think class is about respect.
