That people that work at the DMV are SO friggin rude??? I mean is it required of them? Do they have special jerk training for you to take this job??
I went to the DMV this morning just to get my sticker for my car and OMG I was appalled at how everyone was being treated. The lady that 'helps' you for the stickers first of all was doing NOTHING. I had to wait there 20 minutes with no one in her line. Finally, I heard her say 'well we have 3 people now waiting for stickers so I guess I'll take some'
One poor woman was trying to do something with her title... I think she had a duplicate title. She was elderly and was trying to answer the woman's questions when the employee put her finger in the customer's face and said "NO. That is NOT what I asked you. ONLY answer the question that I asked you, you don't know what you're talking about"
Another poor guy came in for a CDL test and said he had an 8:30 appointment. The lady said 'you were supposed to be here at 8. My 8:30 is already here' and turned around and walked away from him. So he tries again, 'but my schedule said 8:30" to which she replies "well mine says 8 and my 8:30 is already here. I don't know what to tell you, I'm busy" and walked away again. rant  grumble

I think it's their policy to be miserable & rude, I let my Ins. co. handle my registy stuff.

The last time I was there, there was no seating available in the waiting area. But the testing area was totally empty. So I go over there to sit and the lady with the beehive actually yelled at me. "HEY you can't sit over there! That's for testing only!"
Did I mention there was NO ONE over testing?? rant

Glad to know that it's not just my area that's like this. It's bad enough the fees have gotten outrageous (and continue to do so), but what REALLY frosts my ass is having to pay a $3.00 counter fee just for paying in person!! WTF is THAT!?!? I'm already signing a paycheck to them, but now they're expected to be paid for the job that they're already being paid to do??

To top it off, our state DMV branches have recently asked for a RAISE!!

Grrrrrr, I hate that place!

Some people are put on earth to be miserable, and nasty. Then they are hired by the DMV when they become of age.:bigsmile

Wanna hear a REAL bummer?

My tags for my truck were due by the end of March. I deliberately procrastinated until the very last day before the needed renewing, then finally went up there and dealt with them. My wallet somewhat lighter, I went home.

The very next day, I check my mailbox, and sonofab!tch, there's the renewal notice for the CAR tags!!

You can guess how pleased I was.

It doesn't matter how hard I try to cross t's and dot i's before I go in there, it seems that inevitably there's a hitch. I have several MVA horror stories that definitely cause foul language.

You know, it must be a nationwide thing because I've yet to hear of anyone having a good experience at the DMV or at least run in to an employee that wasn't rude and/or obnoxious.

In Ohio, it's FANTASTIC. Smiling, happy people. Kind people....

In RI I had one positive experience but only ONE. It was after they got the digitized photos and they were playing around with it, the girl actually let me see the photo and say yay or nay.... that was the best DL photo ever!

But I was there last July for a new ODL (Ohio) and the lady said I did well on the vision test, was as sweet as could be....

We are one state over, dearie... (ok two if you count oyou got to drive through IL)....

It's one of the few nice things you'll hear me say about Ohio... nice BMV workers.
