hello there,im a mum of 5 fantastic kids, and we do many many things together, not only do we do the usual visits to the park, meals out, shopping together, but we also do fun, minimum cost mad things too, such as movie nights with pop corn infront of the tv,craft nights, nights where we all cook the evening meal, and our favourite is to put on the music loud and jump around and dance n fling our arms around in a mad state..which is loads of fun..im still always looking for new things to do with them though so would appreciate any ideas and would enjoy hearing about fun things other parents do with their precious children..xxx

My girls and I are very lucky to live in a city with a Children's Library. We go almost every weekend. However, even if you don't have a Children's Library, most libraries have a good children's section. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours just sitting and reading all the stories. And, it's 100% free.

My daughter & I have a rock collection - we paint them different ways to look like animals for our "rock zoo". We also color easter eggs just because; play with play dough and make bead necklaces.

We bake together, plant in our garden, make bird feeders, color and generally just about anything artistic.

She is 4 years old.

I have two young children and have started to do puppet shows together... coming up with a basic story (very basic - mine are young - often it is just their teddies dancing etc... )... then play it out using the back of the sofa as a stage. I plan to tape it next time then we watch it together and send it to family members ...

They like it!

I have a 7yo daughter, and she makes sure I always tickle her. A LOT. She loves to laugh. I also take her roller skating in bad/cold weather, or to parks on nicer days.

hmmm...we have "themes", kind of.

movie nights are just for that: movies, with popcorn and muffins.

exercise nights...we either go roller skating, to the park, on a hike, fly kites...bikes...something physical.

game nights are for games: monopoly, clue, phase 10, uno...

on dinner night, one kid picks the menu and gets to do the shopping and preparation with me. we all eat and pig out...another kid makes the dessert. it's hands-on and fun.

we make candles, soaps, bath-salts, and lotions. the kids get to make presents for their teachers and family members. paper, paper mache, beadwork...

we make bracelets and jewelry and stupid cut-out craftstuff that we print from the internet.

we go to the zoo and have picnics in the back yard. we make silly little videos of all of us cutting up. we have self-defense lessons in the yard. we make smoothies and get creative on ice cream shakes.

we make homemade cookies, adding ingredients with each batch. we go to free concerts in the park. we research stuff on the internet and then head out into the real world to put the knowledge to use.

we randomly pick out music artists that we know nothing of and download their cd to listen to while we clean house, dancing like idiots.

we have water fights in the back yard...and sometimes the living room. we practice our "make-up" skills on each other, tossing in manicures and pedicures.

we have spider hunts in the back yard.

eh, it's why i don't date. i prefer the company of my children over all others.

There's something that I do with mine that I've carried over from my childhood. When we have friends over for a BBQ, we have a whipped cream fight. U get the canned whipped cream an use it like u would a water gun. Make sure to establish ground rules before hand. It also helps if u've got a waterhose for after. LOL Kids have an absolute ball with this. shades

I just laugh at people when when they look at me funny when I'm doing something silly with my girls. I absolutely love acting silly with them. I allways look at it as an excuse for adults to be silly, it even seems to relieve stress. the people who look at you like your acting childish need to loosen up.

Took my girls to a b-day party at a rollerskateing rink yesterday and I loved being out there teaching them how to skate. Ofcourse i then had to show off and let them see dad can roller skate. One transition from front to backwards didnt go so well and i hit the ground hard and they laughed at me so hard. I'm feeling it today buct heck it was more than worth it.

theyre all such amazing things i don't actually know any other people who interact and get involved in their childs play like myself and i do get people making comments but at the end of the day we have children for a reason and we need to nurture them,i think my children need to know just how much i love their company and how important they are to me..
its so nice hearing about all the things other parents do with their kids i run around the park like a maniac with my kids and we do rather silly things and all those parents stood bored at the park just hoping their kids will burn off a bit of energy really don't know what theyre missing because there is nothing more exhilerating that running around with your children crawling along the ground with them getting muddy with them hearing them laff so loud then going home and all getting into pjs and sitting huddled up together on the sofa with some supper and cocoa...im a full time single mum and i think ive the best job in the world...fun fun fun and all very rewarding...

I forgot to add driving down the road with Kidz Bop cranked(not loud enough to do hearing damage) and singing at the top of our lungs. I get a lot of looks when we do that.
