Dogs that is! It was a few nights ago..still kind of sad about it. I love my animals as much as I love people! Who has a cute animal story to share? Anyone?

Honestly, I do NOT like cats.
but when I moved here a stray cat adopted me. a few weeks later he got hit by a car and was in really bad shape.. would have died, so I brought him in and doctored him for months, one day I sat out some catfish to thaw.. later when I went in to cook it...You guessed it.. the darn cat had ate about a third of my fish..mad

The cat is happily back outside where he belongsbigsmile

Sorry to read about the loss of your pet.

I lost my rabbit Cadbury in mid-June. We had been treating her for a sinus infection ad it wasn't clearing up. The vet finally decided to do a culture and came back saying that Caddy had a bad tOoth. Permission given to pull it and she crashed and died. Apparently the was a tumor up in her head and when the tooth was pulled the poison dropped into her syStem and blitZed her. The tumor had eaten throug the upper palate of her mouth.

I miss that rabbit! She was an awesome friend and companion.

1st agrant333, flowerforyou very sorry. I lost my son at age 22,12 years ago so I somewhat realatesad2 Big Hug to u.

Sorry about the sick doggie,it is heartbreaking when they are part of your family.flowers Good you have others still.

I have many stories that people have laughed about since I am always around some type of animal and always have been.Right now I have the boys,3 male cats. When the youngest was about 6 months, showed up at my door and never left. He was quite wild, broke 2 lamps in living room, jumped on the dresser and if there was any jewlry there at night, when I got up in the morning it was gone. Anyway that is just to say how mischevous he was. I left the dryer door open when getting ready to put clothes in. Left to get the phone. Came back through clothes in,turned on and heard thump, thump, opened the door and here Scrappie had gotten in there when I went to the phone. He took off out of the utility room in a blur.He was fine, but I felt so bad,I gave the boys a can of real tuna. It is funny only because he wasn't hurt.

sorry to hear it. i'm an animal lover and i know what an impact they can have in your life. the nice things about animals is that they don't hide how they feel. if they like you they show it. if they don't they'll avoid you. in some ways they're better than people.

hope it doesn't hurt too long.

I know how everyone feels. My deepest condolences.

I took in a feral, true alleycat, about 8 years ago. When I had it spayed they told me he had feline HIV and that he would only live for at most 4 years. He's had some problems the last few years, but usually a couple of doses of amoxicillin and he was back to normal. The last few days he wasn't eating much and yesterday he quit eating and drinking entirely. He wanted outside so I let him go out. He wouldn't come back in last night and I found he had passed during the night. I buried him today. Isn't it strange that animals know when it's over.

Just typing this will help me get through it. Another quirk of nature.

Had to recently put my 13 year old German Shepherd to sleep about 5 months ago. I rescued her from the pound and she turned into an incredibly good hound. Smart, loyal and sweet in all her quirkiness. Was very well behaved and had been a constant companion throughout a tough time in my life.

Sorry for your loss Unique, we all feel your heartache.

I had a dog named frisky growing up. the ducks got out of the pen one night and when we woke up....we found them snuggling with the dog. She just looked at us like "get these ducks away from me" lol....but she never tried to hurt them ever. I have cried when any of my animals diedflowerforyou

I have a 3 yr old black lab, Trot. He coulda been the inspiration for the book/recent movie Marley and Me. He ate everything when he was a puppy...2 couches, the tables, the carpet, the clicker, you name it. I decided he needed some entertainment while we were gone so I got a kitten from my brother. Trot was about a year old and I bring this little kitten home, Nixon I named him, and they quickly became inseparable. On about the second day Trot was stretched out on the floor sleeping and Nixon goes over to nestle next to him and discovers one of the little teats he has (yah, he's a boy dog, don't ask me why he has them!!!) so there Nixon is, nursing on Trot, kneading him and everything! Trot just looks at me like what the hell mom! Laid right there and let him nurse though! It was priceless.

When I was married to my first wife, she had a cat she named Useless, cuz he was. Useless liked nothing better than to sit on the coffee table and chew his catnip, while basking in the sunlight coming in thru the window.

This one afternoon, Ex was in the kitchen making her lunch, and I was on the couch, talking to someone on the phone.

All of a sudden, we hear a really loud BANG outside. Useless, stoned outta his mind, jumps straight up in the air about 6 feet, and the ceiling fan whacks him in the butt and sends him across the room into the kitchen. As his front paws were declawed, he had no way to stop from slamming head first into the fridge. The moment after his head hit, he looks at Ex as if to say "WTF happened?"

We fell on the floor laughing our butts off.
