In my neighborhood there is a school with a huge fenced field where in the evening people jog or let their dogs run off steam. I'm in the latter group. One evening my little dog was having fun running and I heard a man's voice bellow, "MY DOG WILL KILL YOUR DOG!!" All at once there was his dog, a big Doberman Pinscher towering over my Miniature Schnauzer posturing to mutilate my doggy. The owner showed up as I grabbed up my dog and the man tried to corral his dog. I carried Timmy off of the field and we left, real shaken. I'm wondering why someone would expose their killer dog to the community and innocent peace-loving dogs. I'm also wondering why I had to be the one to leave the field. {It's a given that the field is no-leash ok because of the fenced in area.} We have not returned due to fear of Cujo being there!
Just wanted your thoughts on this.

I have NO idea why some people are idiots, I keep my dog on her leash UNLESS we are in the field with no other dogs around!!! some people should NOT have pets OR children!!

Carry a cane even if you don't need it.If you ever have to use(hope you don't) Smack the dog directly in the nose.(No im not the dog whisperer)Alot of pet owners around here carry canes with something that would cut something like butter.Hope you and your dog never has this happen to you two again. It is very scaryflowerforyou

Unfortunately, even though the guy knowingly brought his vicious dog to a school yard...the leash law works both ways...ohwell It sucks when one jerk spoils it for everyone else...

for the same reason there are people for war - if you was a leader I think you'd opt for peace - consider running in the 2012 campaign

U need to get urself some citronella spray, it's the doggie equivalent to pepper spray, won't really hurt em but it'll give em spicey eyes for sure. Carry it with u when u go to the park, U see the dog again an he gets to close to urs in a very loud stern voice say NO then spray him. Guarantee if he won't bother ur dog no more.smokin

That's a shame .. In my area we have two parks one for the bigger dogs and one for dogs less then 20lbs which is great for both ...
